At least 10 killed in alleged Turkish attack on Iraqi Kurdistan

Israel National News reports: “At least 10 Iraqi tourists were killed and dozens more injured in artillery strikes that Turkey blamed on Kurdish militants in the resort town that Turkey claims also houses Kurdish militias

Iraqi President Barham Salih condemned the attack which was carried out at 1:50 p.m. local time on Wednesday, while the country’s Ministerial Council for National Security rejected accusations of Kurdish involvement in the incident.

The council further vowed to take steps towards ensuring Iraq’s territorial integrity, filing an urgent complaint with the UN, and summoning the Turkish ambassador.

According to a report by Bloomberg News, Turkey invited the Iraqi government to partake in the investigation.

US State Department spokesman Ned Price, in the meantime, urged civilian safety and promised to continue monitoring the crisis…”
