Covenant School shooting updates: 3 children, 3 adults dead after woman opens fire in Nashville
USAToday.com reports: “Three students and three staff members were fatally shot after a woman opened fire at a small private Christian elementary school in Nashville early Monday, a hospital official said.
Officers engaged and killed the shooter at the Covenant School, Nashville police spokesperson Don Aaron said.
Three children and two adults were transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt with gunshot wounds, and all five were pronounced dead after arrival, said Craig Boerner, spokesperson for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. It was not immediately clear if the third adult was also taken to the hospital.
The female shooter ‘appears to be in her teens’ and was armed with at least two ‘assault-type rifles’ and a handgun, Aaron said. She entered through a side entrance of the school and went to the second floor ‘firing multiple shots,’ he said…”
