IDF destroys 2 Syrian military positions in rare cross-border raid

The Times of Israel reports: “In a rare cross-border raid, Israeli soldiers destroyed two Syrian military posts in the demilitarized zone separating the two countries, in a warning to Syrian President Bashar Assad, whose forces are encroaching on the Golan Heights, according to a television report on Tuesday.

The covert nighttime operation last week saw special forces from the Nahal and Yahalom units cross into Syrian territory and destroy the two military positions on the Golan Heights, before slipping back into Israel undetected, Channel 12 reported.
