N.Y. doctor demolishes reason for abortion law

WND.com reports: “New York state’s new law allowing abortion virtually up to birth conflicts with the fact that modern technology allows physicians to do heart surgeries and other medical procedures on unborn babies as early as 22 weeks, contends a physician who has delivered nearly 4,000 babies.

‘If they’re a patient they’re a person, and if they are a person they deserve our protection,’ said Dr. William Lile, an obstetrician-gynecologist.

In a YouTube video responding to the law passed and signed last week by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, he said ‘modern medical technology is already giving preborn babies blood transfusions, heart surgery and more,’ LifeSite News reported.

The new law also removes abortions from the penal code, meaning the state no longer recognizes preborn babies older than 24 weeks as potential homicide victims.

Lile noted lawmakers celebrated the passage of the bill with clapping.

‘Celebrating what? The governor just signed a law saying that we can take the lives of the babies in the womb up until their due date. That’s nothing to celebrate. … To take the lives of these babies in the womb breaks my heart. It is not good for us and is not good for America.’…”
