Syria claims: Israel attacked targets in Homs region using missiles

Israel National News reports: “Israel carried out an air strike near the city of Homs in western Syria overnight Friday, the official Syrian news agency SANA reported.

According to the report, Syria’s air defense systems were activated against ‘hostile targets’ over Homs and intercepted some of the missiles.

Several fires broke out south of Homs as a result of the air strike and explosions could be heard in the area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is based in Britain, said the attack targeted a Hezbollah ammunition depot at a military airport near the city. The airport has allegedly been targeted by Israel in the past as well.
