THE IRANIAN THREAT

Report: Biden seeking direct contacts with Iran

January 26, 2021 — Israel National News reports: “US President Joe Biden’s administration is working on a direct dialogue with Iran through European mediators, an official said on Monday, according to Yediot Aharonot.

‘There will be a new approach focusing on American retaliatory strategy in the region and finding a solution to the conflict with Iran,’ the official was quoted as having told Sky News in Arabic.

‘Contacts [with Iran] will happen in parallel with US allies in the region, mainly the Gulf states and Israel,’ the official added…”  (Iran’s goal is found in Psalm 83:4: Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.  As we have emphatically stated before – it won’t happen.  God has promised: …I will give them [Israel] an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off – Isaiah 56:5.  See the next report.)

Experts: Iran Eyes Reuniting Its ‘Axis of Resistance’

January 28, 2021 — Voice of America News reports: “Ongoing talks about restoring ties between the Syrian government and the Palestinian militant group Hamas are part of a new attempt by Iran to revitalize a regional alliance, some experts say.
Iran and its proxy militia groups in the Middle East refer to their alliance as the ‘Axis of Resistance.’

In a recent interview with the pro-Iranian television channel al-Mayadeen, Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah, praised Tehran’s ongoing efforts to maintain relations with all its allies.

Nasrallah said in the interview he met the Hamas politburo chief, Ismail Haniyeh, several times during the latter’s visit to Lebanon last September. Haniyeh traveled to Lebanon to attend the Palestinian faction’s secretaries-general meeting.

Hamas is an Islamic militant group that controls the Gaza Strip. Despite its Sunni ideology, it has maintained a close relationship with Iran, a regional Shiite power…”

Israel army chief orders plans to counter Iran

January 27, 2021 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Israel’s army chief said Tuesday he had ordered that plans be drawn up to counter Iran’s nuclear capabilities, in the event of a political decision to target the Islamic republic.

Chief of Staff General Aviv Kochavi said he had instructed the military ‘to prepare several operational plans in addition to existing ones… throughout the coming year’.

‘The power to initiate them lies with the political echelon,’ he noted, referring to Israel’s government.

‘However, the offensive options need to be prepared, ready and on the table,’ he added.

Iran, Israel’s arch foe, agreed in 2015 a deal on its nuclear programme with Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States…”  (They may threaten Israel, but Psalm 121 states: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.  The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.   The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.  The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.  Notice especially verse 4 – Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  During his confrontation with the prophets of Baal, Elijah mocked the prophets after they were unable to get a response from Baal.  I Kings 18:27 states: And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.  God does not sleep, and He will preserve Israel.  See the next report.)

January 15, 2021 — The Times of Israel reports: “The Israel Defense Forces is drawing up plans for an attack on Iran’s nuclear program, the Israel Hayom daily reported Thursday in a front-page article.

The newspaper said that IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi has asked for three alternate proposals to derail Tehran’s program, without elaborating on them. It only indicated one of the proposals is a military strike, noting that such a plan would require a significant budgetary boost for the Israeli military.

Iran resumed enriching uranium to 20 percent last week, well in excess of the threshold set out in its landmark 2015 nuclear deal with world powers and a short technical jump from the 90% level of enrichment needed to produce weapons…”
