IRGC chief threatens to ‘open gates of hell’ on Israel, US

May 9, 2025 — Israel National News reports: “Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Hossein Salami warned on Thursday that Iran would retaliate against Israel and the US should the two countries strike Iran.

‘I’m issuing a serious warning: if you make one wrong move, we will open up the gates of hell on you,’ said Salami, as quoted by Iran International.

‘Sit down and stay in your place … we have made extensive preparations. These are serious warnings to Zionist officials, to US officials. The criminal Prime Minister of the Zionist regime talks a lot these days, threatens Iran,’ he added.

‘If you make a mistake, we’ll act on you in a way that you forget the True Promise 1 and 2,’ he said, in reference to Iran’s attacks on Israel last year.

‘Don’t count on THAAD. Iran Threatens U.S. Bases ‘Wherever They Are’ as New Ballistic Missile Revealed

May 6, 2025 — Breitbart.com reports: “Iran unveiled a new solid-fueled ballistic missile and claims it has stationed similar systems nationwide, according to state-run TV, which cited military officials promising the ability to strike U.S. bases and interests ‘wherever they are’ if war breaks out…

The missile reportedly boasts a 745-mile range, precision strike capacity without GPS, and improved defense-evading agility. According to Nasirzadeh, the system was last tested on April 17 and is capable of identifying and hitting designated targets without satellite guidance.

The announcement followed U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s message on Wednesday warning Tehran against continued support for Yemen’s Houthi rebels. 

In response, Nasirzadeh issued a stark threat that if war is initiated by the U.S. or Israel, Iran will strike their interests, bases, and forces ‘wherever they are and whenever necessary.’ He also emphasized that American military installations across the Middle East would become ‘legitimate targets’ in any conflict…”

Iran, Russia deepen ties amid nuclear talks with the US – analysis

May 19, 2025 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Iran has continued its outreach to Russia and other countries as it waits for the next round of indirect talks with the US. While Tehran is still cautiously optimistic, it wants to hedge.

Its goal is to have China, Russia, and even some European countries potentially help it to hedge against any fallout should the US talks collapse. Iran is rushing to do this, and Russia is one of its key friends.

A quiet but deepening of ties between Iran and Russia is unfolding, evidenced by recent diplomatic gestures that reflect cooperation and strategic convergence. During a meeting in Tehran this week, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Rudenko Andrey Yurevich discussed bilateral ties. Iran’s state media, IRNA, highlighted the visit.

At the Tehran Dialogue Forum (TDF), Araghchi reaffirmed ‘the determination of Iran and Russia to reinforce bilateral relations,’ IRNA noted. Yurevich focused on ‘continued consultations at all levels’ and praised the Forum. The reports on the meeting were slim, but Iran clearly wants to highlight Russia ties…”  (Ezekiel 38:5 predicts that Russia, the Orient, and Persia [which changed its name to Iran in 1932] will see millions destroyed through atomic warfare in the Latter Years and Latter Days – Ezekiel 38:8, 16.  This battle is described in Revelation 9:14 – 18: Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. Iran lawmakers ratify partnership treaty with Russia

May 22, 2025 — SpaceWar.com reports: “The Iranian parliament ratified a 20-year strategic partnership treaty with Russia on Wednesday, state media reported, consolidating closer ties between the two countries amid growing tensions with the West.

The deal, which was signed by Presidents Masoud Pezeshkian and Vladimir Putin in January, was already ratified by Russia’s State Duma last month.

It passed the Iranian parliament with 191 votes in favour, eight against and three abstentions among the 212 members present, Iran’s official IRNA news agency reported.

The treaty provides for joint efforts to counter common security threats but stops short of a mutual defence agreement.

Putin has called the treaty a ‘breakthrough document’, while Pezeshkian said it would ‘open a new chapter in relations’.

Iran and Russia have expanded military collaboration in recent years, with Tehran accused by Kyiv and Western governments of supplying drones and missiles used in Russia’s war in Ukraine…”

Iran’s president looks to central Asia for increasing ties

May 13, 2025 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Iran continued its attempts to foster stronger ties with Central Asian countries this week. Iranian Masoud Pezeshkian hosted the prime minister of Uzbekistan.

‘Speaking in his meeting with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Nigmatovich Aripov in Tehran on Monday, President Pezeshkian said that Iran and Uzbekistan are one soul in two bodies and have a lot in common in the historical, cultural, lingual, and religious fields,’ Iran’s state media said.

Central Asia is an increasingly important region for Iran. It has done outreach there for a variety of reasons. First of all, it is part of Iran’s policy of looking to the east toward China and South Asia. It is also part of Iran’s work to ingratiate itself with other economic blocs such as BRICS and the SCO.

It is also a way for Iran to continue to build trade ties away from the West. Central Asian countries often feel neglected, and they also seek to avoid being stuck in a post-Soviet orbit linked to Russia. They had increasingly relevance to the West during the US involvement in Afghanistan. Since then, the West has largely looked the other way. Iran is moving into the vacuum…”
