The Times of Israel reports: “An unnamed senior Israeli official has said that the country’s goal is to topple the Iranian regime by the end of US President Donald Trump’s term in office, the Kan public broadcaster reported Monday, as the two countries are reportedly readying for another armed confrontation.

The official added that Iran is working to restore its advanced missile stocks, which were largely depleted after the 12-day war between the two countries in June, and that Israel is closely monitoring the developments.

According to a security source speaking to Channel 13, if a new confrontation materializes, ‘Israel will respond much more aggressively’ than in previous rounds of fighting, and Jerusalem is preparing for hostilities to last far longer than 12 days this time.

The reports came a day after The New York Times reported that Tehran has greatly increased its missile production, and that senior sources increasingly believe that another war between Israel and Iran is ‘only a matter of time.’
