Hurricane Polo rapidly intensified into a Category 5 storm Tuesday.

Polo’s moisture is fueling a dangerous New Mexico flood threat through midweek.

Remnants of Tropical Depression Fifteen-E expected to redevelop and bring more heavy rain to Hawaii, which rarely sees tropical activity.

Hurricane Polo rapidly intensified into a Category 5 Tuesday morning, less than 24 hours after becoming a hurricane.  Moisture from Polo is also enhancing a flash flood threat across the U.S. Southwest through midweek.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is now monitoring four areas of tropical activity across the Pacific, including Polo.
