A PALESTINIAN STATE?

France will recognise Palestinian state, Macron says

July 25, 2025BBC.com reports: “France will officially recognise a Palestinian state in September, President Emmanuel Macron has said, which will make it the first G7 nation to do so.

In a post on X, Macron said the formal announcement would be made at a session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

‘The urgent need today is for the war in Gaza to end and for the civilian population to be rescued. Peace is possible. We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and massive humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,’ he wrote.

Palestinian officials welcomed Macron’s decision, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the move ‘rewards terror’ following Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attack in Israel.

The US ‘strongly rejects’ Macron’s announcement, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, calling the decision ‘reckless’…”  (Caroline B. Glick, senior contributing editor to The Jerusalem Post wrote a book in 2014 entitled “The Israeli Solution” where she stated in the preface: “Establishing a Palestinian state, so the thinking goes, would be a panacea for all the region’s ills.  It would end the Arab world’s conflict with Israel, because the reason the Arab world is anti-Israel is that there is no Palestinian state.  It would also nearly erase the Arab world’s anti-Americanism, because the reason the Arabs – and the larger Muslim world – are anti-American is that the United States supports Israel even though there is no Palestinian state…  For the past ninety years, the two-state solution has been tried more than a dozen times, and every time it has failed, abysmally.  Between 1970 and 2013, the United States presented nine different peace plans for Israel and the Palestinians, all based on the two-state solution – and for the past twenty years, the two-state solution has been the centerpiece of the U.S. Middle East policy.  But despite this laser focus, American efforts to implement the two-state solution have all been dismal failures.”  See the next two reports.)

‘Terrorism pays off’: Israeli leaders slam Macron for recognizing Palestinian state

July 25, 2025Israel National News reports: “Israeli leaders on Thursday blasted French President Emmanuel Macron after he announced that France will officially recognize the ‘State of Palestine’.

‘Macron just awarded Hamas a prize for committing the October 7 massacre. This shameful act is nothing less than a betrayal by one of the so-called ‘leaders’ of the free world. It sends a chilling message: terrorism pays off,’ said Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana.

‘Emmanuel Macron will be remembered as a collaborator with evil – on the wrong side of history. I’m ashamed to have met this man. I love France. It deserves more courageous leadership,’ he added.

Defense Minister Israel Katz said, ‘Macron’s announcement of his intention to recognize a Palestinian state is a disgrace and a surrender to terrorism, rewarding and emboldening the murderers and rapists of Hamas, who committed the most horrific massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Instead of standing with Israel at this critical moment, the French president is acting to weaken it.’…”

Report: UK mulls recognition of Palestinian state, new initiative to end war

July 29, 2025YnetNews.com reports: “British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to unveil a U.K.-led initiative in the coming days aimed at ending the war between Israel and Hamas. The proposal, which includes a framework for recognizing a Palestinian state, will be shared with key allies, including President Donald Trump and several Arab nations. The plan seeks to map out steps for transforming a ceasefire into a durable peace.

On Monday, Starmer met Trump in Scotland at one of the president’s golf courses. During their meeting, Trump addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the ongoing talks: ‘I hope the food going in is reaching those in need, but Hamas is taking it. It’s a very difficult situation. It’s hard to deal with Hamas, but we have to meet humanitarian needs. Israel has to ensure the food gets to the people — it has that responsibility.’

…Ahead of their meeting, Trump said he would not object if Starmer advocated for recognizing a Palestinian state, though he would not do so himself. ‘Right now, I’m focused on feeding people,’ he said. ‘That’s the top priority because there are a lot of hungry people.’

Starmer is facing growing pressure from within his Labour Party to follow French President Emmanuel Macron’s lead and formally recognize Palestinian statehood. On Friday, about a third of Labour MPs signed a letter urging immediate action…”

Netanyahu says any future Palestinian state would be a platform to destroy Israel

July 8, 2025The Jerusalem Post reports: “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday he wanted peace with Palestinians but described any future independent state as a platform to destroy Israel and for that reason sovereign power of security must remain with Israel.

Speaking at the White House, where he met US President Donald Trump, Netanyahu described the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, where Hamas was in control, as evidence of what Palestinians would do with a state…

Netanyahu said: ‘After October 7th, people said the Palestinians have a state, a Hamas state in Gaza and look what they did with it. They didn’t build it up. They built down into bunkers, into terror tunnels after which they massacred our people, raped our women, beheaded our men, invaded our cities and our towns, our kibbutzim and did horrendous massacres, the kind of which we didn’t see since World War Two and the Nazis, the Holocaust. So people aren’t likely to say, ‘Let’s just give them another state.’ It’ll be a platform to destroy Israel.’

‘We will work out a peace with our Palestinian neighbors, those who don’t want to destroy us and we will work out a peace in which our security, the sovereign power of security, always remains in our hands,’ Netanyahu said…”  (Genesis 15:18 states: In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates  and in Joshua 1:4 we read: From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.  These verses encompass all of the land modern Israel currently possesses, plus all of the land of the Palestinians (the West Bank and Gaza), plus some of Egypt and Syria, plus all of Jordan, plus some of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Israel currently possesses only a fraction of the land God has promised.)
