British Lawmaker Claims Christ’s Death was ‘Assisted’ by ‘Kindly Centurion’ in Euthanasia Debate

October 26, 2021 —Breitbart.com reports: “A British lawmaker claimed that Christ’s death on the cross was ‘assisted’ by a ‘kindly centurion’ during a debate on ‘assisted dying’ — as euthanasia is now euphemistically known — in the House of Lords.

‘I very much recognise the sincerity of those who believe deeply in the sanctity of life. I am a Christian myself, but I remind them that, when on the cross, Christ was put out of his agony by a kindly Roman centurion who pierced His side with a sword,’ claimed Lord Vinson, the plastics magnate turned Conservative party life peer, during a debate on the Assisting Dying Bill currently being debated in Parliament.

‘His death was assisted,’ he added…”  (What utter nonsense… When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.  The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.  Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.  But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:  But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.  And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.  For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.  And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced. – John 19:30-37 [emphasis mine].  Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:17 & 18 [Emphasis mine].)

U.S. Is Facing a ‘Worldview Crisis,’ George Barna Says: 94 Percent Reject a Biblical Worldview

October 14, 2021 — ChristianHeadlines.com reports: “The United States is in the midst of a ‘worldview crisis’ that impacts every other issue facing the country today, researcher George Barna told a gathering of Christians in Leesburg, VA, on Thursday.

Barna, the senior research fellow for the Center for Biblical Worldview at the Family Research Council and the head of the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, pointed to research from this year showing that only 6 percent of American adults have a biblical worldview – even though 51 percent believe they do. The Cultural Research Center conducted the survey. Ninety-four percent of Americans don’t hold to a biblical worldview.

‘A lot of people are walking around America today, self-deceived, about their worldview,’ he said…

The dominant worldview in America today is ‘syncretism,’ which involves ‘picking and choosing’ elements from other worldviews, Barna said. The result: Americans’ worldviews often include beliefs that conflict and contradict one another. All total, 88 percent of American adults hold to syncretism, according to data from Arizona Christian University’s Cultural Research Center…”  (Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. – Amos 8:11-12.  There is a famine of the Word of God in America, a famine caused by pastors who as Dr. Van Impe often stated “Preach little sermonettes that create Christianettes.  There is no substance to their messages.  Paul wrote to Timothy: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry – II Timothy 4:1-5.  Pastors, teach your people!.)

U.S. Christian Missionaries Kidnapped in Haiti: 17 Adults and Children Taken

October 18, 2021 — Breitbart.com reports: “A group of 17 Christian missionaries including children was kidnapped late Saturday by an armed gang near Haiti’s Port-au-Prince, a voice message sent to various religious missions by an organization with direct knowledge of the incident has claimed.

The religious aid workers were on their way home from building an orphanage when they were snatched off their transportation by an armed gang, according to a message from Ohio-based Christian Aid Ministries.

‘This is a special prayer alert,’ the one-minute message said, according to AP. ‘Pray that the gang members would come to repentance.’

The message says the mission’s field director is working with the U.S. Embassy, and the field director’s family and one other unidentified man stayed at the ministry’s base while everyone else visited the orphanage…”  (If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.  But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.  If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.  He that hateth me hateth my Father also.  If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.  But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:  And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning” – John 15:18-27.)

French Catholic clergy abused 216,000 victims since 1950

October 5, 2021 — BBC.com reports: “Some 216,000 children have been sexually abused by members of the French Catholic clergy since 1950, an independent inquiry has found.

It warned that the number could rise to 330,000 when abuse by lay members of the Church was included.

The head of the inquiry, Jean-Marc Sauvé, said the figures were ‘overwhelming’.

The French Church expressed ‘shame and horror’ over the findings, and asked for forgiveness.

One victim called the report a turning point in France’s history, and said it was time for the Catholic Church to fundamentally reassess its actions.

The release of the report marks the latest sexual abuse scandal to rock the Roman Catholic Church.

The inquiry was commissioned by the French Catholic Church in 2018…”  (…whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him [or her] that a millstone were hanged about his [or her] neck, and that he [or she] were drowned in the depth of the sea.  Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man [or woman]  by whom the offence cometh!  Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire – Matthew 18:6 – 8.)
