CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH

Christians Who ‘Audibly Pray’, ‘Recite Scripture’, or ‘Cross Themselves’ in Abortion ‘Safe Zone’ Face Prison

October 17, 2022 — Breitbart.com reports: “Christians who are caught ‘praying’, ‘reciting scripture’, or ‘crossing themselves’ near an abortion centre could be sentenced to up to six months in jail in the United Kingdom.

British officials are pushing to have Christians who practice their faith too close to abortion centres jailed under revamped crackdown rules aimed at curbing protests against the practice.

Under current legislation, it can already be an offence to ‘audibly pray’ within so-called ‘Safe Zones’ established around some abortion centres, with those running afoul of the rules liable for a fine of up to £1,000 (~$1,100).

Those who ‘recite scripture, genuflect, sprinkle holy water on the ground or cross themselves if they perceive a service-users is [sic] passing by’ are also liable for fines under the existing regime in one ‘Safe Zone’ administered by Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole Council (BCP Council), for example…”  (If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.  But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.  If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.  He that hateth me hateth my Father also.  If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.  But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:  And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning” – John 15:18-27.)

Report: ‘There is no longer a safe place to be a Christian in China’

October 18, 2022 — ChristianToday.com reports: “The Chinese government is increasingly cracking down on state-sanctioned churches as well as underground churches, leaving no ‘safe place’ for Christians, according to International Christian Concern.

A new report by ICC tracks persecution of Christians in China since July 2021 and records 32 cases of arrests and detainments, five raids on Christian schools, and 20 cases of the Sinicization of churches – where churches are forced to align their faith with the social and political messaging of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The ICC said that exact numbers were likely to be far higher because of the challenges of receiving information from China.

‘The government’s scrutiny of Christians is part of a wider effort to Sinicize the country by coercing religious groups to submit to the communist CCP ideology,’ the report said.

‘The Religious Affairs Bureau and the CCP have one single goal regarding religion: to prevent religious influence from threatening their communist control.’

State-sanctioned churches are especially susceptible to the Chinese government’s Sinicization efforts…”  (Great persecution will soon overtake most Christians in a majority of the world.  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. – Matthew 5:10 – 12;  …When he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.  — Revelation 6:9; …I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. – Revelation 20:4; and Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. – Revelation 2:10.)

Islamic extremists disguised as military separated Christians from crowd, slit their throats: bishop

October 10, 2022 — ChristianPost.com reports: “Suspected Islamic extremists disguised in military uniform gathered a crowd of people in Mozambique’s Nampula province, then separated the Christians from the group and tied their hands before slitting their throats, a Catholic bishop said.

Bishop Alberto Vera Aréjula of Nacala told the Catholic group Aid to the Church in Need this week about the killings that occurred last month as was told to him by one of the Christian survivors who managed to flee.

The survivor told the bishop that the terrorists were dressed in military uniform and they gathered people saying they were there to save them.

‘When they were all gathered, they started asking who is Muslim and who is Christian. Those who identified as Christian, they started tying their hands behind their back and they cut their throats,’ the bishop was quoted as saying…”   (Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life – Revelation 2:10.  Jesus said in the Beatitudes: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you – Matthew 5:10 – 12.  See the next report.)

Knife-wielding radical Muslims attack evangelists for leading people to Christ in Uganda

October 11, 2022 — The Christian Post reports: “Two evangelists sustained deep knife wounds after leading several Muslims to Christ at debates on Islam and Christianity in eastern Uganda, sources said.

Andrew Dikusooka, 35, and 26-year-old Ronald Musasizi had debated Islamic scholars in several areas around Iganga District, and some attacked them after a Sept. 20-24 series of such debates in the district’s predominantly Muslim Nampirika village, said a leader of their ministry, unnamed for security reasons.

‘The two evangelists are nursing terrible wounds on their sick beds in Iganga town after being attacked and beaten by radical Muslims,’ the leader told Morning Star News.

Dikusooka said that after the last day of the debate, well-known Muslims were among those who put their faith in Christ.

‘Many people gave their lives to Christ, including Muslims, witchdoctors and street vendors,’ Dikusooka told Morning Star News. ‘The conversion of these people angered Muslims who began shouting to disrupt the occasion. When the meeting ended, we took the new converts aside and had a few minutes explaining the meaning of the new life in Christ and the commitment to follow Jesus Christ.’

They were halfway home at about 7:30 p.m. when a group of Muslims blocked them near a railroad crossing shouting, ‘They are the ones — beat them, beat them,’ he said…”

California Christian Baker Who Refused to Bake Same-Sex Wedding Cake Wins Legal Victory

October 25, 2022 — ChristianHeadlines.com reports: “A California court ruled in favor of a local Christian baker after she was accused of discrimination for refusing to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple.

According to The Bakersfield Californian, Kern County Judge Eric Bradshaw stated that Catharine ‘Cathy’ Miller, who owns Tastries Bakery in Bakersfield, was only acting in accordance with ‘her sincere Christian beliefs about what the Bible teaches regarding marriage.’

‘That motivation was not unreasonable or arbitrary, nor did it emphasize irrelevant differences or perpetuate stereotypes,’ the judge continued.

Per The Christian Post, Bradshaw also concluded that the state’s Department of Fair Housing and Employment could not prove that Miller violated California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act by intentionally discriminating against lesbian couple Eileen and Mireya Rodriguez-Del Rio in 2017.

‘It’s been a long five years,’ Miller said on Friday. ‘I’m hoping that in our community we can grow together … and we should understand that we shouldn’t push any agenda against anyone else.’

‘We appreciate your prayers and support as we joyfully continue to do business with you in the future,’ Tastries Bakery wrote on Facebook…”  (Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! – Isaiah 5:20.  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away – II Timothy 3:1-5.)
