Church of England Priests Told to Change ‘Problematic’ Christmas Hymns: Report

December 26, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “Church of England clergy have reportedly been told to make changes to popular Christmas carols to avoid ‘causing unnecessary offence’.

A whistleblowing vicar has claimed that priests throughout England have been urged to modify Advent hymns and Christmas carols, The Telegraph reports.

According to the broadsheet, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel was identified as being potentially offensive for suggesting that other religions are ‘outside of God’s grace’.

Additionally, Lo, He Comes With Clouds Descending had been flagged for containing ‘problematic words’ because it affirms that Jesus Christ is the ‘true Messiah’.

In an email sent out to the diocese in Birmingham, priests were reportedly told: ‘Try to use language that won’t add further confusion or tension or take away anything from the good news of the Nativity.’

The Church of England has come under criticism in recent years for promoting woke ideology rather than focussing on the Gospel…”  (Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. – Amos 8:11-12.  There is a famine of the Word of God in America, a famine caused by pastors who as Dr. Van Impe often stated “Preach little sermonettes that create Christianettes.”  There is no substance to their messages.  Hadden Robinson, author of Biblical Preaching: The Development and Delivery of Expository Messages was lecturing his students on preparation for preaching and said “If it’s a mist in the pulpit, it’ll be a fog in the pews.”  Paul wrote to Timothy: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry – II Timothy 4:1-5.  Pastors, teach your people!)

‘Christianity is Paganism’: Florida Imam Warns Muslims Against Wishing ‘Happy Holidays’ to ‘Pagan’ Christians

December 25, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “Christianity today is ‘paganism’ and Christians are ‘pagans’ and ‘not believers,’ according to Florida Imam Abu Usama At-Thahabi, who urged Muslims to reject Western cultural influences and warned them against wishing others a ‘merry Christmas’ or even ‘happy holidays.’

In his Friday, December 20, sermon at the Masjid As-Sunnah mosque and Islamic center serving the Orlando, Florida, area, the American-born Abu Usama delivered a scathing critique of Christianity, declaring it polluted with pagan practices, while urging Muslims to remain steadfast in their identity. 

‘The Christians today, the ones you know, those of us who are reverts [to Islam], our relatives — Christians — are pagans,’ he argued.

‘It’s not a nice word to be called a pagan. They think they’re believers, but they’re not believers — [they’re] pagans,’ he added.

Netanyahu to Christians: ‘You’ve stood by our side as Israel defends our civilization’

‘My dear Christian friends, as you gather with your family and friends this Christmas, I wish the Christian community in Israel and around the world blessings for a Merry Christmas from the Holy Land,’ Netanyahu opened.

The Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Christian support: ‘At a time when Israel is fighting on seven fronts, we deeply appreciate the steadfast support of our Christian friends around the world. You’ve stood by our side, you’ve stood by our side resiliently, consistently, forcefully as Israel defends our civilization against barbarism.’

He added: ‘The people of Israel are united in defending our nation against those bent on our destruction. We seek peace with all those who wish peace with us, but we will do whatever is necessary to defend the one and only Jewish state, the repository and the source of our common heritage.’

‘Israel leads the world in fighting the forces of evil and tyranny, but our battle is not yet over. With your support, and with God’s help, I assure you, we shall prevail,’ Netanyahu concluded.”  (Psalms 122:6 – “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” Why?
