Physicists find evidence of new subatomic particle that resembles Higgs boson

Fox News reports: “To cheers and standing ovations from scientists, the world’s biggest atom smasher claimed the discovery of a new subatomic particle, calling it ‘consistent’ with the long-sought Higgs boson — popularly known as the ‘God particle’ — that helps explain what gives all matter in the universe size and shape.

‘We have now found the missing cornerstone of particle physics,’ Rolf Heuer, director of the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN), told scientists.

He said the newly discovered subatomic particle is a boson, but he stopped just shy of claiming outright that it is the Higgs boson itself — an extremely fine distinction.

‘As a layman, I think we did it,’ he told the elated crowd. ‘We have a discovery. We have observed a new particle that is consistent with a Higgs boson.’

The Higgs boson, which until now has been a theoretical particle, is seen as the key to our understanding of why matter has mass, which combines with gravity to give an object weight. The idea is much like gravity and Isaac Newton’s discovery of it: Gravity was there all the time before Newton explained it. But now scientists know what a boson is and can put that knowledge to further use.

CERN’s atom smasher, the $10 billion Large Hadron Collider on the Swiss-French border, has been creating high-energy collisions of protons to investigate dark matter, antimatter and the creation of the universe, which many theorize occurred in a massive explosion known as the Big Bang…” (The physicists started thinking about this 30 years ago. Sixteen years ago 7,000 physicists and engineers from 100 nations got together to begin the building of this monstrous machine. It was going to cost $10 billion and they were going to erect it at the Swiss France borders. They were going to have to go down 330 feet in the earth. If you got an elevator ride, that’s 33 stories down. And they were going to put in that ground floor a 17 mile track circular. They call it the doughnut and the ring. And then they would put on the track a proton that would travel 186,000 miles per second. But wait a minute — they had two tracks opposing one another and they put another proton on the other also going 186,000 miles per second and they would ignite it and both would go around those rings, all 186,000 miles per second, 245 different times and then they had an intersect place in four different slots and when the two protons hit one another for a total of 372,000 miles per second, 14 trillion electronic volts took place the big bang. Now I’d rather believe the following, it is easier to accept. In the beginning God created heaven and earth, Genesis 1:1. Wait a minute. His name is Yahweh, but here it’s Elohim. Why? Because of a trinity anything that ends in “im”, cherubim, seraphim, means more than one. It’s the trinity. They were all involved in creation. The Son yes Proverbs 30:4, who’s established all the ends of the earth? What’s God’s name, what’s his son’s name? And believe it or not Psalm 104:30 says the spirit created and renewed the face of the earth. So there you have it. There is a Trinity. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, Matthew 28:19. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all, II Corinthians 13:14. And then I love I john 5:7. There are three that bear witness, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost. And these three are one. No ifs, ands, or buts. That’s it! And it was the Holy Spirit who was given the matter of superintending the writing of the scripture. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, II Timothy 3:16, and holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, II Peter 1:21. Jesus was given the job of superintending the creation of the world. Jesus? Jesus, the one that Verhoeven tries to minimize as being born through a rape by a Roman soldier. God forgive him. John 1:1, in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Who is the Word? Verse 14, the Word became flesh. Who in the Trinity became flesh? Christ. Let’s go back, in the beginning was Christ, and Christ was with God, and Christ was God. All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made. Verse 3, he was in the world and the world was made by him, verse 10. Colossians 1:16, for by Christ were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, dominions, principalities or powers all things were created by Christ and for Christ. And by him all things consist. And he made the worlds Hebrews 1:2. Soon we are going to see Jesus face to face and our lifetime of service to Christ will be judged. If we have been faithful we will lay our rewarded crowns at the feet of Jesus – Revelation 4:10. As we do we will be praising the Savior as recorded in Revelation 4:11 saying: thou art worthy Jesus to accept glory, honor and praise. For thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created.)
