NEWS FROM ISRAEL

‘Israel is facing an attack of international hypocrisy’

The Jerusalem Post reports: “Prime Minster Netanyahu in first statement after raid: ‘it is our right and obligation to prevent arms from reaching Gaza. This was not a ‘Love Boat’ it was a hate boat.’

Speaking live to the nation in his first public statement since the crisis began, Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday night that:

‘The state of Israel faces an attack of international hypocrisy. This is not the first time we have faced this, two years ago we faced a massive attack of missiles fired by Hamas who hid behind civilians. Israel went to great lengths to avoid civilian casualties but who did the UN condemn? It condemned Israel.’…

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu decided on Tuesday that Israel would not prosecute or continue to hold the participants it captured from the Gaza protest flotilla, despite earlier plans to put on trial those who had attacked the soldiers boarding the ships…” (Hamas and Hezbollah, both financed and formed by Ahmadinejad of Iran have been created to wipe Israel out of existence. The recent flotilla attack was to stop new armaments from entering Israel to continue the terroristic release of more missiles against the Jewish sector. 6,000 have already rained down upon the Jewish people and the invasion of ships by Israeli’s was halted as a measure of protection against further devastation and death – Psalm 83:4; Isaiah 56:5.)

Ex-Spain PM: If Israel goes down, we all go down

YnetNews.com reports: “José Maria Aznar, former prime minister of Spain, published an opinion article with the London Times Thursday saying the world must support Israel because ‘if it goes down, we all go down’.

Aznar, who has joined the ‘Friends of Israel’ campaign to which David Trimble, a foreign observer taking part in Israel’s flotilla raid probe, also belongs, calls on Europe to refuse to put up with cries to eliminate Israel as part of global Christian-Jewish cooperation.

‘Anger over Gaza is a distraction. We cannot forget that Israel is the West’s best ally in a turbulent region,’ Aznar writes of the IDF’s calamitous raid on a flotilla bound for Gaza on May 31.

‘In an ideal world, the assault by Israeli commandos on the ‘Mavi Marmara’ would not have ended up with nine dead and a score wounded. In an ideal world, the soldiers would have been peacefully welcomed on to the ship.’

Aznar also criticizes Turkey, to which the Marmara belonged, for placing Israel ‘in an impossible situation’ in which it would have to either give up its security or face world condemnation.

The former prime minister calls on the world to ‘blow away the red mists of anger’ and take a ‘reasonable and balanced approach’ based on the fact that Israel was created by a decision of the UN and therefore unquestionably a legitimate state.

‘Israel is a nation with deeply rooted democratic institutions. It is a dynamic and open society that has repeatedly excelled in culture, science and technology,’ he adds.

However, he says, ‘62 years after its creation, Israel is still fighting for its very survival. Punished with missiles raining from north and south, threatened with destruction by an Iran aiming to acquire nuclear weapons and pressed upon by friend and foe, Israel, it seems, is never to have a moment’s peace.’

Aznar says the real threat to the region is extreme Islamism, ‘which sees Israel’s destruction as the fulfillment of its religious destiny and, simultaneously in the case of Iran, as an expression of its ambitions for regional hegemony’.

‘Both phenomena are threats that affect not only Israel, but also the wider West and the world at large,’ he adds…” (The above headline is a fact. Once Jerusalem and Israel is divided it will lead to World War III – Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. See also Joel 3:2 and Ezekiel 38:1, 2, 8, 11, 15, and 16.)

Israel recoils as US backs nuclear move

Breitbart.com reports: “Washington’s unprecedented backing for a UN resolution for a nuclear-free Middle East that singles out Israel has both angered and deeply worried the Jewish state although officials are cagey about openly criticizing their biggest ally.

The resolution adopted by the United Nations on Friday calls on Israel to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and urges it to open its facilities to inspection.

It also calls for a regional conference in 2012 to advance the goal of a nuclear-free Middle East.

Israel is widely believed to be the only nuclear power in the Middle East, with around 200 warheads, but has maintained a policy of deliberate ambiguity about its capabilities since the mid-1960s.

The document, which singles out Israel but makes no mention of Iran’s controversial nuclear programme, drew a furious reaction from the Jewish state who decried it as ‘deeply flawed and hypocritical.’

But it was US backing for the resolution which has caused the most consternation among Israeli officials and commentators, who interpreted the move as ‘a resounding slap around the face’ which has dealt a very public blow to Israel’s long-accepted policy of nuclear ambiguity.

Publicly, the Israel government has not criticized the US position but privately, officials expressed deep disappointment over the resolution, which Washington backed despite intensive Israeli efforts to block it…” (Israel should recoil at Obama’s pro-Muslim moves. Her nuclear facility and weaponry is her only source of defense, along with Yahweh God’s protection – Ezekiel 39:6.)

US Joins Pro-Muslim ‘Alliance of Civilizations’

Israel National News reports: “The Obama administration has announced the United States will join the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, another openly anti-Israel organization.

The group was created in 2006 to find ways to bridge the growing divide between Muslim and Western societies – a goal wholeheartedly embraced by President Barack Obama, who has redirected American foreign policy in pursuit of the same goal.

The White House announcement stated that the move is intended to realize Obama’s ‘vision of active U.S. engagement with other nations and international organizations,’ a goal sometimes pursued, noted National Review Online columnist Brett D. Schaefer last Thursday, ‘even when there is little or no chance that doing so will advance U.S. interests.’

The U.S. decision is also meant to support the Alliance goal of ‘improved understanding and cooperative relations among nations and peoples,’ the statement said.

However, the Alliance has been anything but cooperative when it comes to improving understanding of issues relating to the security of Israel’s and United States’ civilians.

The group claimed in its first report in 2006 that global tensions were driven primarily by the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The same report referred to ‘a perception among Muslim societies of unjust aggression stemming from the West’ in a discussion relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States by the international Al Qaeda terrorist group…” (Obama’s true colors and religious preference will soon become obvious – Amos 3:3.)

Arab MK to EU: Israeli leaders must be tried at The Hague

Haaretz reports: “Speaking at a hearing of the European Parliament, MK Afu Aghbaria (Hadash) accused Israel of deliberately harassing the residents of the Gaza Strip and called for Israeli leaders to be tried at the International Criminal Court.

The hearing, also attended by MK Nahman Shai (Kadima) and MK Einat Wolf (Labor), was organized by the Communist Party in the European Parliament.

‘In its 62 years of existence, Israel has attacked its neighbors and its Arab citizens nonstop,’ Aghbaria said.

‘Israel prevents the passage of medicines and medical supplies to Gaza. As a result of this, 700 Gazans have died at the border crossings. [Benjamin] Netanyahu, [Ehud] Barak, [Avigdor] Lieberman and [Tzipi] Livni should be brought to the International Criminal Court in The Hague,’ the lawmaker said.

Shai and Wilf quickly condemned Aghbaria’s words, in a joint statement.

‘It is very grave that at a time when MKs are making every effort to calm spirits, lessen the damage and bring a positive message to the European Parliament, an Arab MK comes and arouses tempers and takes advantage of his position to call on the European Parliament to enact sanctions on Israel,’ they said…” (This report is laughable when one considers 1,300 Islamic terrorist attacks in more than twenty nations since 9-11-01.)

Israeli Ambassador: Israel Will Do ‘Whatever It Takes’ to Defend Itself

Fox News reports: “Israel will do ‘whatever it takes’ to defend itself from terrorism, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S. said Sunday, without elaborating what actions would be taken in the face of a potential Iranian Revolutionary Guard escort of ships to break through the blockade of Gaza.

Ambassador Michael Oren said Israel is ‘open to any ideas to somehow deal with the Gaza situation’ but dropping the blockade is unlikely since that would mean allowing thousands of rockets to arrive in Hamas-controlled Gaza.

If Iran sends its elite military unit to escort any other ships — as it has suggested it would — ‘Israel will also do whatever it takes to defend itself from Hamas terror,’ Oren told ‘Fox News Sunday.’

‘Israel will do what it has to do to defend 7.5 million Israelis,’ he said…” (The prediction of Joel 2:1-3 is to prevent Joel 3:2, the division of Israel that begins Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. Regardless of all Israel’s attempts for peace, everything will fail – Ezekiel 38, 39; Joel 2:1-3; Revelation 16:12; Revelation 9:14 – 18.)
