NEWS FROM ISRAEL

‘I’m Ready To Accept Palestine, Why Not Israel?’

February 24, 2014 — Israel National News reports: “Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke on Sunday night, emphasizing that the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) refusal to recognize Israel as the Jewish state is the fundamental factor preventing peace. ‘Recognition of the Jewish state is a necessary condition for peace,’ remarked Netanyahu.

Speaking to a German television channel in advance of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Israel visit on Monday, Netanyahu praised US Secretary of State John Kerry’s efforts to push through a peace deal between Israel and the PA.

‘The only way to achieve peace is to express support for Kerry’s efforts,’ claimed Netanyahu. ‘Together with the Palestinians, and at their head PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, we have to sit at the table and reach an agreement.’

‘I’m ready to accept their existence in their country, why don’t they accept me?’ asked Netanyahu, stressing that the refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state is a major roadblock to peace.

‘The obstacle of the peace talks is this principle (of recognition), and not the issue of Israeli building in settlements that gets such wide criticism in the West,’ argued Netanyahu. He further denied claims that construction is a key problem, saying it’s an issue that ‘will be solved in the talks’ framework.’…” (How ungracious and hateful of the Palestinians who are calling for statehood, but will not recognize Israel as a legitimate nation and Jerusalem 930 times as Israel’s capital in God’s Holy Word. I recommend that Palestinian Christians stand for the promises of God rather than the blasphemous hatred of Islamic terrorists. “…When he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held” – Revelation 6:9; “…I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years” – Revelation 20:4 and “…Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” Ephesians 5:11. Netanyahu to Abbas: No excuses, recognize Jewish state now

March 4, 2014 — The Times of Israel reports: “Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas must recognize Israel as a Jewish state to show he is serious about ending the conflict, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told some 14,000 activists at AIPAC’s annual policy conference Tuesday.

Delivering the confab’s keynote address, Netanyahu called on Abbas to quit making excuses over the key Israeli demand. During the speech, he also rejected the idea of international peacekeepers in the Jordan Valley, and made a case for upping pressure on Iran, saying any Iranian nuclear capability would be a threat to the whole world.

‘It’s time for the Palestinians stop denying history,’ he said. ‘Just as Israel is prepared to recognize a Palestinian state, the Palestinians must be prepared to recognize a Jewish state.’

Such a recognition would send a message to Palestinians, he said, ‘to abandon the possibility of flooding Israel with refugees or amputating parts of the Negev or Galilee.’

‘Recognize the Jewish state. No excuses, no delays. It’s time,’ he urged, directly addressing Abbas…”

Abbas: I will not recognize Israel as Jewish state

March 7, 2014 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said that the Palestinians will not recognize Israel as a Jewish state at a meeting with students in Ramallah, Israel Radio reported on Friday.

There is ‘no way’ that he will agree to recognition, Abbas was quoted as saying by Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Netanyahu most recently repeated his request for recognition during his speech at AIPAC’s 2014 Policy Conference on Tuesday.

‘Recognize it. No excuses. No delays. It’s time,’ he told the audience.

Abbas also reiterated his position on Friday that the capital of a future Palestinian state will be east Jerusalem in its entirety, rather than just a portion. He added that if negotiations fail, he will encourage popular resistance as a pathway to peace, according to Israel Radio…”

Arab League, Abbas reject recognizing Israel as ‘Jewish state’

March 10, 2014 — YnetNews.com reports: “The Arab League on Sunday endorsed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s rejection of Israel’s demand for recognition as a Jewish state, as US-backed peace talks approach a deadline next month.

The United States want Abbas to make the concession as part of efforts to reach a ‘framework agreement’ and extend the talks aimed at settling the decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

‘The council of the Arab League confirms its support for the Palestinian leadership in its effort to end the Israeli occupation over Palestinian lands, and emphasizes its rejection of recognizing Israel as a ‘Jewish state’,’ Arab foreign ministers said in a statement in Cairo.

Arab governments, distracted by the upheaval convulsing the region since the 2011 Arab uprisings, have previously taken few stands on the floundering peace talks, leaving Abbas isolated…”

U.S.: No Need for PA to Recognize Israel

March 9, 2014 — Israel National News reports: “The United States believes there is no need for the Palestinian Authority (PA) to recognize Israel as a Jewish state as part of a peace agreement, State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday.

Psaki, who spoke to the PA-based Arabic-language Al-Quds newspaper, said, ‘The American position is clear, Israel is a Jewish state. However, we do not see a need that both sides recognize this position as part of the final agreement.’

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has been adamant on the PA recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, explaining that the Arabs’ refusal to recognize Israel stands at the heart of the conflict.

The PA has already formally refused to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, stating that ‘the Arab states will never recognize a Jewish state.’ PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas reiterated this position on Friday, when he told young members of his Fatah movement that ‘there is no way’ he would recognize Israel…”

Hamas: Recognizing Israel is a ‘Death Sentence’ to the PA

February 24, 2014Israel National News reports: “Lawmakers from Hamas on Sunday warned Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas against recognizing Israel as part of the ongoing peace process.

The lawmakers said that recognition of Israel as a Jewish state would be a ‘death sentence’ against the PA.

Ibrahim Dahbour, one of Hamas’s representative in the Palestinian Legislative Council, warned Abbas against giving up any of the ‘fundamental principles of the Palestinian people’ in the negotiations with Israel, in particular with regards to the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state.

Speaking with the PA-based Quds Press news agency, Dahbour said that the very debate regarding Israel as a Jewish state has dangerous consequences. He added that if Israel achieves international recognition as a Jewish state, such a move will bring the Palestinian Arabs to a point of no return and will result in the elimination of the so-called ‘right of return’, the expulsion of ‘Palestinian citizens of Israel’ and any other non-Jewish residents of Israel, and in the bringing of the world’s Jews to Israel.

Samira Halaiqa, another Hamas parliamentarian, went even further and said that the ‘resistance’ against Israel in order to thwart peace talks will continue…”

Israel seizes ship with missiles heading from Iran to Gaza

March 5, 2014 — Haaretz reports: “Israeli naval forces on Wednesday intercepted an Iranian arms vessel carrying medium-range missiles in the Red Sea, about 930 miles from the Israeli coast. The shipment was headed for the Gaza Strip via Sudan.

Special forces from the Shayetet 13 (Flotilla 13) unit overpowered the cargo vessel named the KLOS C – which is registered in Panama – in the early morning hours. A search aboard the vessel uncovered dozens of 302mm rockets, which are manufactured in Syria and were fired into Israel by Hezbollah during the 2006 Second Lebanon War. The rockets have a range of about 100 kilometers.

‘We have conclusive evidence that there were rockets on board the ship, and we have proof and can say with certainty that Iran is behind this operation,’ a senior Israel Defense Forces officer said.

The officer said that the rockets originated in Syria, were loaded onto airplanes at the Damascus airport from which they were transported to Iran. There they were boarded onto the cargo ship, which set sail about 10 days ago en route to a port in Sudan…” (Iran is drastically anti-Semitic and hates the Jews immensely. The Iranians look to their Koran which calls Jews “apes” and “pigs” I quote: “…those who incurred the curse of Allah and his wrath…those of whom some he transformed into apes and swines…those who worshipped evil…these are many times worse in rank, and far more astray then the even path” Surah 5:60. Iranian Official: ‘We are Preparing to Liberate Jerusalem’

February 28, 2014 — Israel National News reports: “The Islamist Basij militia force in Tehran ran a special military exercise Thursday and Friday preparing for an Iranian takeover of Jerusalem.

The exercise, entitled ‘March to Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem),’ included training in the event of such a takeover, including drills for the protection of cities, assistance and rescue, dealing with social unrest, the protection of sensitive and important military centers, dealing with the invasion and landing of ‘enemy’ (IDF) forces from helicopters, and carrying out complicated tactical maneuvers at night.

In an official statement, the militia said that the exercise is designed to develop and enhance the capabilities of the Al-Maqdis Brigades, improve Basij military competence, and foster a ‘self-sacrificing spirit’ among the terrorists.

Tens of thousands participated in the exercise and terrorists-in-training flocked to the program from dozens of Basij battalions.

Basij commander General Mohammad Reza Naqdi announced that the exercise was planned because the ‘boastful’ (an expression used to indicate the US and Western powers) are at the end of their path to power and ‘the fighters and freedom-loving people’ worldwide – Islamists – are angry and want to destroy the US and Israel to ‘restore’ Jerusalem to an Islamic city…”

Fatah Official: We Have Not Ruled Out Military Options

March 10, 2014 — Israel National News reports: “Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party is not ruling out a violent struggle against Israel, a senior member of the party recently said.

‘None of us, especially in Fatah, has ruled out the military options,’ declared Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki in an interview which aired on February 26 on Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television.

The interview was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).

‘There is a big difference between addressing the consciences of the enemies, so that they will listen to you and so that you can denounce your rival, and between being unable to restrain the masses, when sacrifices are warranted, and there is hope [for gains] through resistance and confrontation,’ said Zaki.

‘None of us, especially in Fatah, has ruled out the military options. We have not forgotten our principles or our goals – not even at our sixth congress, which was held in Bethlehem [in August 2009], where we adhered to our entire legacy of struggle, so that it can be resorted to at the right time,’ he added…”

Obama: U.S. won’t be able to defend Israel if peace talks fail

March 4, 2014 — The Times of Israel reports: “Israel can expect to face international isolation and possible sanctions from countries and companies across the world if Benjamin Netanyahu fails to endorse a framework agreement with the Palestinians, US President Barack Obama cautioned on Sunday ahead of a meeting with the Israeli prime minister.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Obama stressed that time was running out for Israel to achieve a peace deal, and added that he believed Netanyahu had the capacity to rally Israel’s citizens behind an agreement.

But if Netanyahu ‘does not believe that a peace deal with the Palestinians is the right thing to do for Israel, then he needs to articulate an alternative approach,’ Obama said.

‘There comes a point where you can’t manage this anymore, and then you start having to make very difficult choices,’ he said.

The president went on to stress that he would convey to Netanyahu, in the spirit of the Jewish sage Hillel the Elder, that the prime minister could lead Israel toward peace if he chose to do so.

‘If not now, when? And if not you, Mr. Prime Minister, then who?’ Obama said.

The president went on to condemn in no uncertain terms Israel’s settlement activities in the West Bank, and said that though his allegiance to the Jewish state was permanent, building settlements across the Green Line was counterproductive and would make it extremely difficult for the US to defend Israel from painful repercussions in the international community…” (The Wall Street Journal calls President Obama “The Greatest Anti-Semitic, Anti-Jew President in history” I believe he looks forward to the headline of this report. God loves Israel Mr. President “The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers…” Deuteronomy 7:7, 8,)
