NEWS FROM ISRAEL AND THE MIDDLE EAST

Netanyahu: For peace, Palestinians must recognize Jewish homeland

The Jerusalem Post reports: “There will be no peace with the Palestinians until they recognize the Jewish right to a homeland in Israel, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Sunday night [10/7/13] at Bar-Ilan University.

“A necessary condition to getting a true solution [to the Israeli-Palestinian] conflict was and remains clear as the sun: ending the refusal to recognize the right of the Jews to a homeland of their own in the land of their fathers,” he said. “That is the most important key to solving the conflict.”

Netanyahu’s words came at the start of a conference marking 20 years since the founding of the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, the site of Netanyahu’s famous “Bar-Ilan speech” from four years ago where he stated his willingness for a two-state solution.

Those who anticipated that he might use the same venue to again break new ground on the Palestinian issue were disappointed.

Rather than present a “vision” speech of where he thought the negotiations with the Palestinians were headed, Netanyahu used the opportunity to emphasize that a Palestinian recognition of Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people was a necessary condition to any agreement…” (This request is a Biblical one. God promises the land to Israel 120 times and their ruler ship of Jerusalem 930 times. Psalm 122:6: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”)

Israel PM calls Iran leader ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’

BBC News reports: “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned against working with the Iranian government.

In a speech to the UN General Assembly, he described President Hassan Rouhani as a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’.

He said Israel would not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, even if it had to stand alone on the issue.

Iran replied that it had no intention of developing nuclear weapons, and called Mr. Netanyahu’s comments ‘extremely inflammatory’…

In his address to the UN, Mr. Netanyahu said Israel’s future was threatened by a ‘nuclear-armed’ Iran, and urged other nations to keep up sanctions against the country.

He accused Mr. Rouhani of having the same goal as his more hard-line predecessor, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

‘Ahmadinejad was a wolf in wolf’s clothing. Rouhani is a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” Mr. Netanyahu said…” (This title Jesus used in Matthew 7:15 is definitely a statement worthy of the hypocrisy of the new president – Hassan Rouhani. Read the following facts of who this man served and you will know our President Obama is being duped as Neville Chamberlain was by Hitler. As a young cleric Hassan Rouhani started his political activities by following the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini during the beginning of the Iranian Islamist movement. In 1965, he began traveling throughout Iran making speeches against the government of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, the Shah (king) of Iran. During those years he was arrested many times and was banned from delivering public speeches… Since he was under surveillance by SAVAK (Iran’s pre-revolution intelligence agency)…two leading Ayatollahs [Islamic Clergymen]…advised him to leave the country. Outside Iran he made public speeches to Iranian students studying abroad and joined Khomeini upon arriving in France. Wake up President Obama and America before Iran bombs are dropped in Israel and the USA as Islamists call the Little and Big Satan. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” – II Chronicles 7:14.)

Former Israel ambassador to the UN calls it “The Citadel of Hypocrisy”

The Jerusalem Post reports: “Dan Gillerman, a former Israel ambassador to the United Nations refers to that institution as ‘The Citadel of Hypocrisy.’ Gillerman used the expression twice on Monday night [9/30/13] in the course of an address in Herzliya Pituah to ESRA (The English Speaking Residents Association) at a fund raising dinner to benefit ESRA projects on behalf of the Ethiopian community in Netanya.

Gillerman, who was only the second Israeli after Abba Eban to serve as vice president of the UN General Assembly, said the UN has three standards – one for democracy, one for totalitarian states and another for Israel.

Reviewing developments in the region, Gillerman said that ‘Israel today is in one of its most precarious situations and maybe even the most dangerous existentially ever in a dramatically changing world and neighborhood.’

The world has become so crazy, said Gillerman, that Russian President Vladimir Putin can be compared with the Pope, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani with Mother Theresa and Syrian President Bashar Assad with the head of the Red Cross…” (This tremendous article speaks volumes of truth. Iran gets senior seat on UN nuclear disarmament committee

The Jerusalem Post reports: “Hours after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu railed against Iran’s nuclear program from the UN General Assembly’s stage on Tuesday [10/1/13], member states elected Iran to be the rapporteur for the Disarmament and International Security Committee.

Iran’s representative will replace Norwegian diplomat Knut Langeland. The position’s duties include relaying information and reports on disarmament and armament activities between the committee and the General Assembly.

The First Committee on Disarmament and International Security, which is comprised of all 193 member states, ‘considers all disarmament and international security matters’ and ‘seeks out solutions to the challenges in the international security regime.’

One of its main functions is to draft resolutions that are later debated by the General Assembly; the committee has no power to pass resolutions.

Iran applied for the position on July 30. Israeli Ambassador to the UN Ron Prosor said then that if Iran were to assume such a post, it would be like ‘inviting Assad, the Syrian dictator responsible for the death of 100,000 of his own people, to be the head of the population census bureau.’

On Wednesday, the American Jewish Committee condemned the UN’s decision, saying it was ‘appalled’ at the election…”

Canada’s FM: We’re Not Neutral on Israel’s Security

Israel National News reports: “Canada’s Foreign Minister, John Baird, reiterated on Monday [9/30/13] his country’s commitment to Israel’s security.

In a speech to the United Nations General Assembly, Baird also warned against Iran’s recent conciliatory remarks, saying that they must be followed up by actions.

‘Some observers see encouraging signs, but sound bites do not remove threats to global security. Kind words, a smile and a charm offensive are not a substitute for real action,’ said Baird.

‘We will welcome and acknowledge reform, if and when it comes. By this we will know when genuine reform has occurred: Has there been real, measurable, material improvement in the lives of the Iranian people and in the security of the world?’

‘Not yet! We will judge the regime on the basis of its action and results,’ he declared…” (Praise God for Canada’s stand for Israel. My precious Canadian lovers of God’s Chosen People Deuteronomy 7:7, & 8 will bring God’s blessing on you and your nation – Genesis 12: 1 – 3: “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” See the next article as God promises the land to the Jews through Abraham.)

40% of US Jews: God Gave Israel to Jews

Israel National News reports: “Jews in the United States are overwhelmingly proud to be Jewish, yet nearly one in five of them describe themselves as having no religion, according to a Pew Research Center survey…

The gap is generational, with 32 percent of Jews born after 1980 identifying as Jewish on the basis of ancestry, ethnicity or culture – compared with 93 percent of Jews born in 1914-27 who identified on the basis of their faith.

‘This shift in Jewish self-identification reflects broader changes in the US public,’ said Pew’s Religion and Public Life Project in a summary of its 210-page report.

‘Americans as a whole – not just Jews – increasingly eschew any religious affiliation,’ with 22 percent of all Americans identifying with no particular faith, it said.

Nevertheless, 94 percent of respondents said they were proud to be Jewish, while seven out of 10 felt either very attached or somewhat attached to Israel, a proportion essentially unchanged since the turn of the 21st century, Pew said.

Forty percent believe that the land of Israel was ‘given to the Jewish people by God,’ while 38 percent felt the Israeli government is making sincere efforts towards peace with the Palestinians, and 44 percent thought Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria harmed Israel’s security interests…”

Iranian Military Parades Missiles Capable of Hitting Israel

Israel National News reports: “In a show of force which contrasts with the relatively conciliatory statements by Iran’s new president, the Iranian military has paraded its arsenal of ballistic missiles capable of hitting Israeli and other western targets, at a state parade on Sunday [9/22/13].

Iran paraded 30 missiles with a nominal range of 2,000 kilometres (1,250 miles) – the first time it had displayed so many with the theoretical capacity to hit Israeli targets.

The missiles on show included 12 Sejil and 18 Ghadr missiles, at the annual parade marking the 25th anniversary of the outbreak of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.

The stated range of both missiles would put not only Israel but also US bases in the Gulf within reach.

But in his speech at the parade, President Hassan Rouhani insisted the weaponry on show was for defensive purposes only…” (Iran will never win because God says to His elect, the Israelites: “I will give thee an everlasting name that shall not be cut off” – Isaiah 56:5. See the next report.)
