UN passes resolution for conference on ‘two-state solution’, 8 countries vote against

December 4, 2024 — Israel National News reports: “The UN General Assembly on Tuesday adopted a resolution calling for the organization of a high-level conference aimed at implementing relevant resolutions and achieving a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Arab conflict.

The resolution, which was introduced by Senegal and co-sponsored by numerous countries, passed with 157 votes in favor, eight against, and seven abstentions.

In addition to Israel, the other countries that voted against the resolution were Argentina, Hungary, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, and the United States.

Cameroon, the Czech Republic, Ecuador, Georgia, Paraguay, Ukraine and Uruguay are the countries which abstained.

The resolution reaffirms the need for a ‘two-state solution’ while stressing the importance of establishing ‘a just, lasting and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.’

It also proposes the convening of a ‘High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.’…”  (Caroline B. Glick, senior contributing editor to The Jerusalem Post wrote a book in 2014 entitled “The Israeli Solution” where she stated in the preface: “Establishing a Palestinian state, so the thinking goes, would be a panacea for all the region’s ills.  It would end the Arab world’s conflict with Israel, because the reason the Arab world is anti-Israel is that there is no Palestinian state.  It would also nearly erase the Arab world’s anti-Americanism, because the reason the Arabs – and the larger Muslim world – are anti-American is that the United States supports Israel even though there is no Palestinian state…  For the past ninety years, the two-state solution has been tried more than a dozen times, and every time it has failed, abysmally.  Between 1970 and 2013, the United States presented nine different peace plans for Israel and the Palestinians, all based on the two-state solution – and for the past twenty years, the two-state solution has been the centerpiece of the U.S. Middle East policy.  But despite this laser focus, American efforts to implement the two-state solution have all been dismal failures.”)

Netanyahu Warns Houthis as He Lights First Candle of Hanukkah

December 26, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lit the first candle of Hanukkah in Jerusalem, Israel, on Wednesday evening, and warned Iranian-backed Houthi rebels who have been firing missiles and drones from Yemen that they are about to learn a lesson.

The Houthis fired a ballistic missile at Israel early Wednesday (Christmas) morning, which was intercepted by Israel’s defense systems, though pieces of shrapnel fell on the country. A drone from Yemen reached Israel but landed in an open area, causing no injuries.

Israel has retaliated against the rebels three times, and is planning a larger counterattack, after Houthi attacks have continued.

Hanukkah (or Chanukah) celebrates the rededication of the ancient Temple in Jerusalem after it was liberated from Syrian-Greek control in the second century B.C. Israel to open ‘new front’ in Golan Heights, Netanyahu says

December 16, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he will double the Israeli population of the Golan Heights following the fall of Syria’s Bashar Al-Assad. The Israeli government approved the plan Sunday.

Netanyahu, who spoken Saturday night with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, has approved a plan to expand the number of settlements in the occupied Golan Heights.

‘Strengthening the Golan is strengthening the State of Israel, and it is especially important at this time. We will continue to hold onto it, cause it to blossom, and settle in it,’ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.

Netanyahu said the shift is necessary because a ‘new front’ had emerged on Israel’s border with Syria after the fall of the Assad regime to an Islamist-led rebel alliance, the BBC reported…”

Hamas calls for ‘mobilization’ to repel PA security forces amid West Bank ops.

December 17, 2024 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Hamas called on ‘all movements, factions, tribal gatherings, and human rights organizations to mobilize massively’ to repel the ongoing operation carried out by Palestinian Authority security forces in the West Bank city of Jenin in an official statement on Tuesday.

‘We emphasize that the continuation of the PA’s security operation indicates that it is turning a deaf ear to all Palestinian voices calling for its cessation and for the protection of the resistance,’ the terror group’s statement read, adding that the PA operation ‘serves only the occupation army and its futile dreams of ending the resistance in the West Bank.’

The large-scale Jenin operation began earlier in December after Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists stole vehicles belonging to the Palestinian Authority…”

Hamas threatens to ‘neutralize’ hostages if Israel launches rescue attempt

December 5, 2024 — YnetNews.com reports: “Hamas said it had information that Israel intended to carry out a hostage rescue operation similar to one conducted in Gaza’s Nuseirat camp in June and threatened to ‘neutralize’, or kill, the captives if such an operation took place, according to an internal statement seen by Reuters on Wednesday.

In the internal document dated November 22, Hamas told its operatives not to consider any repercussions of following the instructions and said Israel was responsible for the fate of the hostages. It did not say when any Israeli operation was expected to take place…” 

Massive Israeli airstrikes on Syria reportedly causes earthquake

December 16, 2024 — YnetNews.com reports: “Israeli air strikes in Aleppo and Hama in Syria overnight, caused an earthquake, the Russian Sputnik news agency said early on Monday.

The Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen network added that the attacks in the area of Tartus in the west of the country targeted arms depos and caused tremors measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale as the warehouses went up in flames.

Ayatollah Khamenei Claims Iran’s Axis Made ‘Stronger’ by Fall of Syria’s Assad

December 12, 2024 — Breitbart.com reports: “Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed on Wednesday that Tehran’s ‘Axis of Resistance’ was only made stronger by the fall of Bashar Assad, the Syrian dictator who was one of Iran’s top clients and vassals before he was overthrown by a lightning-fast jihadi insurgency last week.

Iran invested a huge amount of money and military force to keep Assad in power through a decade of civil war, but Khamenei insisted the demise of the Syrian regime at the hands of an al-Qaeda offshoot – militant Sunni Islamists who have no love for the Shiite superpower of Iran – was not a major calamity. In fact, Khamenei said Iran was better off without Assad.

‘This is what the resistance is, this is what the resistance front is. The more you push, the stronger it becomes; the more you commit crimes, the more motivated it becomes. The more you fight with them, the more widespread it will be, and I tell you, by the Divine Power, the domain of resistance will cover the entire region more than before,’ the elderly ayatollah ranted during a speech in Tehran…
