NEWS FROM ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST

Israel is a Jewish state and will remain so – Ra’am’s Abbas

December 22, 2021 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “‘The State of Israel was born as a Jewish state, and it will remain one,’ Ra’am (United Arab List) leader Mansour Abbas said on Tuesday at a conference of the Hebrew economic newspaper Globes.

The statement by Abbas in an interview with Channel 12 analyst Muhammad Magadli was considered historic because it is very different from the view of Arab parties until now.

The point of view of Arab parties in the past has been that Israel should be a state of all its citizens, not a Jewish state. Arab parties have supported changing the Law of Return to make it easier for Arabs to move to Israel and gain a majority.

Abbas made a similar statement last month in Arabic to the Kul al-Arab media outlet…”  (Bravo to Mansour Abbas in this statement.  Unfortunately as the following article reports, it is not a popular belief in the Middle East.  Genesis 15:18 states: In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates  and in Joshua 1:4 we read: From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.  These verses encompass all of the land modern Israel currently possesses, plus all of the land of the Palestinians (the West Bank and Gaza), plus some of Egypt and Syria, plus all of Jordan, plus some of Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Israel currently possesses only a fraction of the land God has promised.  See the next report.)

Palestinians slam Mansour Abbas for ‘recognizing’ Israel as a Jewish state

December 23, 2021 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Palestinians from across the political spectrum have strongly condemned Ra’am (United Arab List) leader and MK Mansour Abbas for recognizing Israel as a Jewish state.

On Tuesday, Abbas was quoted as saying, ‘The State of Israel was born as a Jewish state, and it will remain one.’ He made the statement at a conference of the Hebrew economic newspaper Globes.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who has repeatedly stated his refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, on Wednesday expressed outrage over the statements of the Arab MK.

‘These irresponsible statements are consistent with the calls of extremists in Israel to displace the Palestinians and harm the status of the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque and the history of the Palestinian people,’ he said in a statement released by the PA president’s office.

The statement added that Mansour Abbas represents only himself when he talks about accepting Israel as a Jewish state…”

‘One wrong move’: Tehran Times reveals Iran’s targets in Israel

December 15, 2021 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “An Iranian newspaper published a map on Wednesday threatening Israel with missile attacks with pins representing rocket alerts placed on dozens of potential targets, although some of the pins were placed in Lebanese territory and on Palestinian cities in the West Bank.

The map, published on the front page of the Tehran Times newspaper, was part of an article headlined ‘Just one wrong move!’

‘An intensification of the Israeli military threats against Iran seems to suggest that the Zionist regime has forgotten that Iran is more than capable of hitting them from anywhere,’ wrote the paper, adding that it ‘doesn’t need to remind the illegitimate regime of Israel of Iran’s defense capabilities.’

The article ended by quoting a threat by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei from 2013 which warned that Iran would ‘destroy Tel Aviv and Haifa’ if Israel ‘makes a mistake’ and conducts a military strike…”  (Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.  Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.  Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.  I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.  Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.  Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. – Psalm 2:1-12.  See the next report.)

IRGC leader warns Israel: We will cut off their hands if they make a wrong move

December 25, 2021 — Israel National News reports: “War games conducted this week by Iran in the Gulf were intended to send a warning to Israel, the country’s top military commanders said on Friday, Reuters reports.

The Revolutionary Guards’ war games included firing ballistic and cruise missiles.

‘These exercises had a very clear message: a serious, real … warning to threats by the Zionist regime’s authorities to beware of their mistakes,’ Guards chief General Hossein Salami was quoted as having said on state TV.

‘We will cut off their hands if they make a wrong move… The distance between actual operations and military exercises is only a change in the angles of launching the missiles,’ he threatened…”

Hamas to Israel: Leave or die

December 13, 2021 — Israel National News reports: “The Hamas terror group held ceremonies throughout Gaza on Friday to mark the 34th anniversary of the outbreak of the First Intifada, which they claim was a sign of commitment to continue the struggle for the liberation of ‘Palestine.’

Mushir al-Masri, a senior Hamas figure, said in a rally in northern Gaza (as reported in the Falastin newspaper) that Hamas continues on the path of jihad and the struggle in all its forms, particularly that of armed resistance against Israel.

According to him, Jerusalem will remain the organization’s central purpose, and continue to be cause for violence if violated…

To Israel itself, Masri said: ‘You have no place on our land. Leave it or be killed on it.’…”  (Almighty God has stated: …I will give them [Israel] an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off – Isaiah 56:5.  Everlasting means everlasting.  God promised to Abraham in Genesis 22:17: …in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore…    And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt; To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.  Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.  Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever – Deuteronomy 4:37 – 40.)

Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad agree to facilitate attacks on Israel

December 20, 2021 — YnetNews.com reports: “Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) stuck an agreement on Sunday to step up terrorist attacks against Israel, especially in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Iranian-backed groups have also agreed to increase coordination between their military wings, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and the Al-Quds Brigades.

The deal was reached during meetings between Hamas and PIJ top brass officials in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip in recent days.

The deal is seen by Palestinian political analysts as a new challenge for the Palestinian Authority (PA), whose security forces continue to carry out a massive crackdown on Hamas and PIJ members in the West Bank…”  (They may threaten Israel, but Psalm 121 states: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.  The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.   The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.  The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.  Notice especially verse 4 – Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  During his confrontation with the prophets of Baal, Elijah mocked the prophets after they were unable to get a response from Baal.  I Kings 18:27 states: And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.  God does not sleep, and He will preserve Israel.  See the next two reports.)

Syria FM tells Iran it will respond to Israeli attacks

December 7, 2021 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Syria’s Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad was in Iran this week and told his counterparts that Syria will respond to Israeli attacks on Syria. ‘We are responding to these attacks every day,’ Mekdad said, according to reports in Iranian media. He noted that the ‘Israeli regime’s attacks on Syria could not go unanswered,’ Tasnim news said. ‘Those who attack Syria are the enemy of Syria and they supported the terrorists. Israel is doing this today. Maybe today’s answer is different from tomorrow and today’s answer is different from yesterday.’

He said that Syria is responding in ‘various ways.’ He claimed Syria is pursuing ‘terrorists,’ which apparently refers to Syria’s regime cracking down on former Syrian rebels in southern Syria near the Golan. ‘Some expect the response to the airstrikes, but Israel should not forget that Syria may waive such attacks, but it will not forget the essence of the issue…Israel should not be misunderstood and should know that these attacks will be answered,’ he said…”

Iran pledges ‘crushing’ response against any Israeli attack

December 20, 2021 — YnetNews.com reports: “Iran will retaliate with a ‘crushing’ response against any Israeli attack, a commander said according to an Iranian news agency linked to the country’s top security body.

‘If Israel carries out attacks against Iran, our armed forces will immediately attack all centers, bases, routes, and spaces used to carry out the aggression,’ Gholamali Rashid said during a military maneuver which started on Sunday, nournews added.

Last week, The Tehran Times newspaper published an article, revealing a map of dozens of Iranian targets in Israel, in an event the Islamic Republic opts to strike the Jewish state…”

Israel’s incoming Air Force chief: In next war Hezbollah will suffer ‘unimaginable blow’

December 22, 2021 — YnetNews.com reports: “Israel’s incoming Air Force commander said Wednesday that in the next war in Lebanon the Hezbollah terror group will suffer the kind of blow ‘it can’t even imagine’.

Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar will take over as head of the Israeli Air Force from Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin in April 2022.

He said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah will ‘be all’ for a no-holds-barred war with Israel.

‘He has been waiting for 30 years for that order [from Tehran] and there is no chance he will be absent from such a conflict, with all the force at his disposal. Israel must be prepared.’

Bar, who will be tasked with carrying out a strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities should one be ordered, understands that he may be required to carry out one of the most complex operations in country’s history…”  (According to GlobalFirepower.com, the United States has the highest Military Strength Rating, Israel is number 15, and Iran is number 21.  Even if Iran were more powerful than Israel, history has shown us that when Israel is attacked by superior forces, the result is that Israel gets a new national holiday.  Yahweh God has promised: …I will give them [Israel] an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off – Isaiah 56:5.)
