PSALM 122:6 –PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM

Hamas: All of Jerusalem is Islamic

June 20, 2019 — Israel National News reports: “Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said on Wednesday that the so-called ‘Deal of the Century’, the American peace initiative to resolve the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs, does not have the power to deprive the Palestinians of the city of Al-Quds or the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

‘The city of al-Quds is neither eastern or western but Islamic, and not Trump, the American administration, the Zionist-American alliance, the international silence, the conspiracy, normalization or the transfer of the embassy to Al-Quds can change the facts,’ he declared.

In a message to those who seek to limit the power of Hamas, Haniyeh said that they are delusional because Hamas is deeply rooted in the land and heart of the Palestinian people and they will not succeed in harming it…”  (Although its history is one of war and destruction, Jerusalem means “city of peace” or “foundation of peace.”

From the siege of David in 1000 B.C. to the Six Day War of 1967, the sounds of battle have been heard as this city has experienced 46 sieges and 32 partial destructions. It has been burned to the ground five times, always rising from the ashes. It is the site of the most volatile political, religious, and military problems in the entire world.

The Jewish cry for peace in Jerusalem is sincere, finding its roots in the promise given through Moses (Leviticus 26:6). Jerusalem will finally become the city of peace and capital of the world when Christ, who is our peace, returns (Isaiah 9:6).

Having a history of 4,000 years, Jerusalem was first mentioned in Scripture in Genesis 14:18 when Melchizedek was king over the city of Salem. Later, it was called Jebus, named for the third son of Canaan, as it was the dwelling place of the Jebusites (Judges 19:10, 11; 1 Chronicles 11:4, 5).

When David took the city, the fortress was on a hill called Zion, another name given Jerusalem. Somehow, later, Jeru was added to Salem … perhaps a combination of Jebus, changed to Jeru, and Salem.

Since B.C. 400, Jerusalem has passed from one Gentile power to another. From 70 A.D. alone, the transition of power went from the Roman conquerors to the Persians in 614; to Caliph Omar in 637; to the Crusaders in 1099; to Saladin in 1187; to the Egyptian Mamelukes in 1250; the Turks in 1517; the British in 1917, and finally, in 1967, the Jews captured Jerusalem.)

Iran’s threat to Israel continues to grow

June 5, 2019 — Israel National News reports: “For the third time in one week a confrontation between the pro-Iranian axis and Israel took place in Syria and it looks as though Iran is preparing for the opening of a new front against the Jewish state on the Golan Heights.

After Syrian air defenses tried to down an IAF warplane patrolling the skies in northern Israel at the beginning of last week, two other confrontations took place over the weekend.

On Saturday evening two rockets were fired in the direction of the Israeli Golan Heights with one of them reaching Mount Hermon where it exploded without causing damage or casualties.

The Israeli air force (IAF) responded by launching airstrikes on positions of Hezbollah and the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in the vicinity of Damascus, killing three Syrian soldiers and 7 members of Hezbollah and the Quds Force.

The Quds Force and Hezbollah have bases near Al-Husseiniyah and Al-Kiswah south and south-west of Damascus which have been bombed by the IAF before this.

Early Monday morning the IAF again carried out airstrikes against Iran-related targets in Syria…”  (They may threaten Israel, but Psalm 121 states: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.  The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.   The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.  The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”  Notice especially verse 4 – “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”  During his confrontation with the prophets of Baal, Elijah mocked the prophets after they were unable to get a response from Baal.  I Kings 18:27 states: “And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.”  God does not sleep, and He will preserve Israel.)

Netanyahu: I say to Israel’s enemies – don’t test us

June 19, 2019 — Israel National News reports: “Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, who also serves as Israel’s Defense Minister, met with IDF commanders during an army training exercise in northern Israel Wednesday morning.

During his visit, Netanyahu spoke with IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, along with officers and troops taking part in the exercise.

At the end of his inspection of the training exercise, Netanyahu made a brief statement, warning Israel’s enemies not to ‘test’ the country’s willingness to defend itself, with veiled references to Gaza, as well as Iran and its proxies, Syria and the Hezbollah terrorist organization…

‘I hear our neighbors from the north, south and east threatening our destruction. I say to our enemies: The IDF has very great destructive power. Don’t test us.’…”  (Prime Minister Netanyahu is correct.  “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.  Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.  Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.  I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.  Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him” – Psalm 2:1-12.  See the next report.)

PM: Israel will strike first, not wait to be attacked

June 13, 2019 — Israel National News reports: “Israel will act preemptively and will not wait for its enemies to attack, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Wednesday.

Speaking at a state memorial ceremony for former President Ephraim Katzir at the Rehovot cemetery, Netanyahu said: ‘The chain of tests that we are dealing with is unending. We respond vigorously and with force to all attacks against us; however, we do not take action only after the fact. We deny the enemy’s capabilities before the fact. We are acting methodically and consistently to prevent our enemies from establishing offensive bases against us in our vicinity.’

The prime minister’s statements followed reports from Syrian media of Israeli airstrikes in southern Syria overnight.

According to the reports, the Israeli attack targeted the town of Tell al-Hara, located in the Daraa region, a strategic point overlooking the Golan Heights…”

Bolton: Without security there can be no peace

June 23, 2019 — Israel National News reports: “Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu took US National Security Adviser John Bolton and US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman on a tour of the Jordan Valley Sunday.

‘The Jordan Valley offers Israel the minimal strategic depth and strategic height for the defense of our country,’ the prime minister told Bolton.

‘Our presence here also guarantees stability and security for the entire region,’ Netanyahu added.

‘To those who say that for peace to be established, Israel has to leave the Jordan Valley, I say: that’s not gonna bring peace. That’s going to bring war and terror – and we’ve been there. We don’t want to be there again.’

US National Security Adviser Bolton said that President Trump would take Israel’s concerns into consideration.

‘‘I’ll just say that without security there is no peace, there is no long-lasting peace. And I just think it’s too bad, Prime Minister, that more Americans can’t come to locations like this, see the geography, understand its significance, understand how it affects Israel’s critical security position, and explain why Israel has taken the view that it has,’ Bolton said…”  (“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober” – I Thessalonians 5:1-6.)

Report: Hezbollah planned huge, game-changing attacks on Israel targets globally

June 12, 2019 — The Times of Israel reports: “For three and a half years, Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency played a cat-and-mouse game with the Hezbollah terror group to stymie its efforts to establish explosives storehouses from Thailand to New York, an Israeli intelligence official confirmed this week.

The largest cache, containing some three tons of ammonium nitrate, a key ingredient for some types of explosives, was found at four locations in north London, sites raided by the Metropolitan Police in September 2015. Other caches planted by Hezbollah cells were discovered in Cyprus, Thailand and as-yet unnamed European countries, according to reports.

The Hezbollah plot to establish infrastructure in London in preparation for future attacks was revealed Sunday in the UK’s Daily Telegraph newspaper.

That report, based on sources in Britain, the US and Cyprus, noted that a foreign intelligence agency, unnamed, had tipped off Britain’s MI5 and the Metropolitan Police about the explosives…”  (Why is Israel so persecuted?  Answer — the Devil, and I Chronicles 21:1 states: “…Satan stood up against Israel…” and every anti-Semitic Jew hater is controlled by this demonic spirit.  See the next report.)

Toronto: Sign threatening massacre of Jews at Al Quds Day event

June 3, 2019 — Israel National News reports: “A sign alluding to a historical massacre of Jews was carried openly at the annual al-Quds Day hatefest in downtown Toronto on Saturday afternoon, the B’nai Brith of Canada reported Sunday.

The sign depicts the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem and warns that, ‘The last Khayber is ready,’ an allusion to an ancient battle in which a Muslim army defeated and slaughtered Jews in the Arabian Peninsula. It also predicts the coming of ‘the last Hayder,’ a nickname for Ali, the leading figure in Shi’a [Shi’ite] Islam.

Shi’a [Shi’ite] clerics are among the speakers and organizers of the Toronto al-Quds rally, and many attendees are brought by buses from Shi’a mosques across the Greater Toronto Area.

In 2017, the use of a related slogan at a Mississauga, Ont., protest sparked an online furor and a temporary ban on anti-Israel rallies at the city’s Celebration Square…”
