Trump and North Korea’s Kim in Singapore for historic Tuesday summit

June 10, 2018 — Reuters reports: “U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Singapore on Sunday for a historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that could lay the groundwork for ending a nuclear stand-off between the old foes and the transformation of the isolated Asian nation.

Trump flew into Singapore’s Paya Lebar Air Base aboard Air Force One, looking to strike a deal that will lead to the denuclearization of one of America’s bitterest foes. He came from a divisive G7 meeting in Canada with some of Washington’s closest allies that further strained global trade ties…

Kim arrived at Singapore’s Changi Airport after his longest trip overseas as head of state, wearing his trademark dark ‘Mao suit’ and distinctive high-cut hairstyle. He has not left his country since taking office in 2011 other than to visit China and the South Korean side of the border Demilitarised Zone…”  (In 1972 President Richard M. Nixon became the first U.S. President to visit the People’s Republic of China ending twenty-five years of no communication or diplomatic ties with China since the communists took over in 1949.  President Nixon called his visit ‘the week that changed the world’ and it has been consistently ranked by historians and others as one of the most important, if not the most important visit by a U.S. President anywhere in the world.  Was this summit in Singapore President Trump’s ‘Nixon to China’ moment?  Only time will tell.  North Korea has consistently broken promises to denuclearize since December 1985.  See the next three reports.)

Trump: Kim agreed to complete de-nuclearization

June 12, 2018 — Israel National News reports: “President Donald Trump addressed reporters Tuesday at a press conference following his historic meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un at the Capella Hotel in Sentosa, Singapore.

Following the 45-minute meeting, Trump and Kim sat down for a signing ceremony, putting their signatures to a document both sides described as ‘historic’, without revealing any details.

Shortly after the signing, President Trump promised to reveal the nature of the agreement at today’s press conference.

At the conference, Trump touted the signing of the agreement, saying it was the result of three months of negotiations between the US and North Korea, as well as 24 ‘tremendous’ hours of work between the US and North Korean delegations since their arrival in Singapore for Tuesday’s summit…”

Kim says committed to denuclearisation of Korean peninsula

June 1, 2018 — SpaceDaily.com reports: “North Korean leader Kim Jong Un told Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov he was committed to denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula, the official KCNA news agency reported Friday.

‘Kim Jong Un said that the DPRK’s will for denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula still remains unchanged and consistent and fixed,’ KCNA reported after their meeting in Pyongyang on Thursday.

Kim hoped US-North Korean relations and denuclearisation of the peninsula ‘will be solved on a stage-by-stage basis’ and ‘he hoped that the solution of the issues will progress through effective and constructive dialogue and negotiation,’ the report by the North Korean news agency said.

Lavrov’s visit came as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and a top North Korean official held talks on planning a historic summit between Kim and President Donald Trump in Singapore…”

Pyongyang may soon return U.S. soldier remains

June 20, 2018SpaceDaily.com reports: “North Korea may soon return a first out of 200 sets of remains of American soldiers who died during the Korean War, after an agreement reached last week by Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump, a US official said Tuesday.

‘Preparations continue’ to receive the remains, the US official told AFP on condition of anonymity. ‘It could happen in the next few days.’

The U.S. and North Korean leaders agreed to the repatriations during their historic June 12 summit in Singapore…”

China Dramatically Increases Nuclear Weapons Testing Under Xi Jinping

May 30, 2018 — Breitbart.com reports: “A report from the South China Morning Post on Monday contends that China is dramatically accelerating its nuclear weapons research, conducting about four times more simulated nuclear explosions in laboratory experiments as the United States between 2012 and 2017.

The tests do not actually involve nuclear detonations. Instead, they use ‘high-powered gas guns that fire projectiles at weapons-grade materials in laboratories.’ The resulting controlled explosions produce a small burst of heat and pressure comparable to a nuclear blast, without the accompanying radiation.

Modern sensory equipment and modeling computers can derive a tremendous amount of useful data for nuclear weapons research from the experiments, particularly when it comes to developing tactical ‘micro-nukes’ that could be used for specific battlefield tasks such as destroying hardened bunkers.

According to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, China conducted more of these tests in the past three years than the United States did in the previous fifteen. Much of the Chinese testing was conducted beneath the Mianyang Mountains in southwestern Sichuan province.

Analysts quoted by the South China Morning Post worried that a new nuclear arms race is already underway. China appears to be rapidly making up for lost time with its sophisticated experiments while the U.S. considers a $1.2 trillion plan to modernize its nuclear arsenal and Russia belligerently announces one advanced weapons program after another…”  (Even if North Korea gives up its nuclear weapons, there are enough remaining in the world to create havoc.  Nuclear war is part of the battle of the ages – see Revelation 9:18. Other prophesied texts are predicted in Psalm 97:3; Isaiah 66:15; Ezekiel 20:47: “…Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched…” Study also Zephaniah 1:8; Malachi 4:1; and Revelation 8:7.)

China in race to overtake the U.S. in AI warfare

May 30, 2018 — Asia Times Online reports: “Earlier this month Chinese supreme leader Xi Jinping met with senior military scientists as chairman of the all-powerful Central Military Commission.

During the meeting, the Chinese leader was photographed at the PLA Academy of Military Sciences shaking hands with Major General Li Deyi, a leading authority on artificial intelligence, or AI, and a key figure in the Chinese military’s effort to overtake the United States in the emerging field of advanced weapons.

The meeting between Xi and the military experts garnered little public attention.

But within US intelligence agencies closely monitoring rival China, the attention given by Xi to Li was the latest sign of the growing importance Beijing places on rapidly building autonomous weapons – robotic arms capable of thinking and acting at the speed of light.

The Chinese military quest for integrating AI into its tanks, naval forces and aircraft is the part of China’s asymmetric or ‘assassin’s mace’ warfare strategy – building high-technology arms that will enable China’s weaker forces to defeat the more powerful military of the United States in any future conflict…”  (“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” – Daniel 12:4.)
