Nuclear war with China or Russia a ‘real possibility,’ STRATCOM commander warns

February 3, 2021 — FoxNews.com reports: “The head of U.S. Strategic Command is calling for military and federal leaders to reimagine methods of deterring aggressive action from rivals such as China and Russia, including the ‘real possibility’ of nuclear war.

In a stark assessment of the current geopolitical landscape, STRATCOM Commander Adm. Charles Richard warned that China and Russia have ‘begun to aggressively challenge international norms’ in ‘ways not seen since the height of the Cold War.’ Richard cited a rise in cyberattacks and ‘threats in space,’ as well as their investment in advanced arms such as nuclear weapons.

STRATCOM is responsible for the U.S. nuclear deterrent.

‘There is a real possibility that a regional crisis with Russia or China could escalate quickly to a conflict involving nuclear weapons, if they perceived a conventional loss would threaten the regime or state,’ Richard wrote in the February issue of ‘Proceedings,’ the U.S. Naval Institute’s monthly magazine…”  (A huge nuclear war is prophesied multiplied times in God’s Word.  Revelation 9:14 – 18 depicts Armageddon: Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.  And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.  And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.  And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.  And Revelation 16:16 tells of the longest and final battle of the ages.)

U.S. headed for war with China, warns top Beijing academic

February 8, 2021 — WND.com reports: “A prominent Beijing scholar on international relations is warning that without a ‘new stability’ in China’s relationship with the United States, ‘there will be war.’

‘It cannot be taken for granted and fantasized that conflict will never erupt between the two,’ said Shi Yinhong, a professor at the Institute of International Relations at Renmin University…

He said the stability that the U.S. and China have had in the past is gone…”  (China will become a basic partner with Russia for the rapidly approaching battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. Russia will lead invasion number one – Ezekiel 38 & 39. China will lead invasion number two – Revelation 16:12; Revelation 9:14 – 16. Then all nations will come against Jerusalem for the final invasion at which point Jesus will return to stop the bloodshed and set up his eternal kingdom upon earth – [He gathers] all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken… Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south – Zechariah 14:2 – 4. Then Psalm 2:6 occurs as God the Father says: …I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion [Jerusalem].  See the next four reports)

China Boasts of Military Buildup While Pushing ‘Dialogue’ with U.S.

February 23, 2021 — Breitbart.com reports: “Chinese state media boasted of China’s massive military buildup over the weekend while simultaneously claiming Beijing wants nothing more than to renew friendly dialogue with the United States under the Biden administration.

China’s state-run Global Times reported Sunday that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has developed ‘a new type of training system that would improve military training in all respects, strengthen the capability to win wars and build the Chinese military into a world-class one.’

The Global Times did not discuss the system, approved by dictator Xi Jinping — whose many titles also include Chairman of the Central Military Commission — in detail, but the article hinted it would include some combination of real-world combat drills and high-tech simulations…”

U.S., China lead world as military spending increases globally

February 26, 2021 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Global defense spending reached a new high point in 2020, with the United States spending more than any other country and China pulling in second, according to data released by The International Institute for Strategic Studies this week.

The IISS analyzed numbers from the Military Balance Plus database and found that global defense spending increased in 2020 to reach $1.83 trillion — a 3.9% increase over 2019 figures.

The United States, which spent $738 billion on defense in 2020, accounted for 40.3% of total global defense spending, the IISS said.

China’s defense spending did not increase as sharply in 2020 as it did in 2019, but the country still spent $193.3 billion on defense in 2020 — $12 billion more than the year before…”

China tests its missile interception equipment

February 8, 2021 — SpaceWar.com reports: “China conducted a land-based, midcourse missile interception test on Thursday-the fifth land-based, anti-ballistic missile test the country has publicly announced.

The Defense Ministry said in a brief statement late on Thursday that the test had achieved its goals, and the operation was defensive in nature, not targeting any other country.

Before the latest operation, China had successfully completed four such tests in 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2018, according to official releases.

The statement did not give details about Thursday’s test, such as when and where it took place and by which means the interception took place…”

China’s Naval Strength Gives It Crucial Clout in Negotiations around Asia

February 25, 2021 — Voice of America News reports: “China’s increasing naval power, the country having surpassed the United States as the world’s largest maritime force, is giving Beijing crucial sway in negotiations with Asian governments that dispute its claims at sea, experts say.

The U.S. Defense Department, in its September annual report to Congress on military and security developments involving China, said China’s navy ranks as the world’s biggest in numerical terms. The report calls the People’s Liberation Army Navy an ‘increasingly modern and flexible force’ armed with ‘modern multi-role combatants.’

China’s navy has avoided war, a potential battlefield disadvantage, but its size means Chinese leaders can get their way in talks with other Asian countries, analysts in the Asia Pacific region say.

‘It certainly doesn’t hurt to have a powerful navy when you go into diplomatic negotiations and say, ‘Give us what we want and then we’ll think about what else we want,’’ said Malcolm Davis, senior analyst in defense strategy and capability at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute in Canberra…”
