Xi tells Russia’s Medvedev China ‘is willing’ to strengthen ties

December 13, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday told former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev that Beijing was willing to strengthen ties with Moscow, state media said.

Medvedev, who is now serving as deputy head of the Russian security council, is visiting China this week for talks with leaders of the key strategic partner.

‘China is willing to work with Russia to strengthen the alignment of development strategies,’ Xi told Medvedev, according to state broadcaster CCTV.

The readout added China hoped to tap into the ‘driving force of cooperation between the two countries, and continuously benefit the two countries and their peoples’.

Since Russian President Vladimir Putin’s February 2022 launch of a full-scale invasion of neighbouring Ukraine, China has sought to present itself as a neutral party, unlike the United States and other Western nations.

But it remains a close political and economic partner of Russia, leading some NATO members to brand Beijing an ‘enabler’ of the war, which Beijing has never condemned…”  (China will become a basic partner with Russia for the rapidly approaching battle of Armageddon – Revelation 16:16. Russia will lead invasion number one – Ezekiel 38 & 39. China will lead invasion number two – Revelation 16:12; Revelation 9:14 – 16. Then all nations will come against Jerusalem for the final invasion at which point Jesus will return to stop the bloodshed and set up his eternal kingdom upon earth – [He gathers] all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken… Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. Defense Department report: China to have 1K nuclear weapons in arsenal by 2030

December 19, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “The Chinese Communist Party intends to add more nuclear arms to its growing arsenal while expanding its global influence and sovereignty, a Department of Defense report says.

The 182-page report is titled, ‘Military and Security Developments Involving the People’s Republic of China 2024,’ and states that China’s leadership is growing more confident in flexing the communist nation’s military might in pursuit of global political gains.

‘Beijing has demonstrated an increasing willingness to use military coercion and inducement to achieve these aims,’ the Defense Department says.

Defense officials say the Chinese Communist Party’s foreign policy ‘seeks to reshape the international order into what it calls a ‘community of common destiny’ to support its strategy to realized ‘rejuvenation’‘ of China as a dominant world power.

Chinese leaders ‘claim their power to shape world events continues to grow, presenting ‘new strategic opportunities’ to create an environment favorable to [Chinese] interests and national rejuvenation,’ the Defense Department’s report states…”

Japan FM raises ‘serious concerns’ over China military activity

December 25, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Japan’s top diplomat Takeshi Iwaya expressed ‘serious concerns’ to his Chinese counterpart over Beijing’s increasing military activity, Tokyo said Wednesday.

Iwaya also told Wang Yi in Beijing that ‘Japan is closely monitoring the Taiwan situation and recent military developments’, a Japanese foreign ministry statement said.

China regards Taiwan as its territory and has not ruled out using force to bring it under its control.

Taipei said earlier this month that Beijing had held its biggest maritime drills in years, stretching from near the southern islands of Japan to the South China Sea.

Iwaya ‘expressed serious concerns over the East China Sea situation, including around the Senkaku Islands (and) China’s increasing military activity,’ the statement said.

The chain of uninhabited islands claimed by Beijing but administered by Tokyo are known as the Diaoyu in China…”

China’s space journey continues apace

December 18, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “The first-ever samples retrieved from the moon’s far side, an iconic feat achieved by China’s most recent lunar expedition, Chang’e 6, were on display at the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, which took place in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, from Nov 12 to 17.

This was the first time the valuable lunar substances had been shown to the public since they were brought back to Earth in June.

The Chang’e 6 mission, representing the world’s first attempt to bring back samples from the far side of the moon, was launched on May 3 from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan province.

After a series of complex maneuvers, the lander of the Chang’e 6 probe touched down at the South Pole-Aitken Basin on the lunar far side on June 2, and then began to collect surface and underground samples.

It was the second-ever landing of a spacecraft on the lunar far side. The vast region had never been reached by any spacecraft until January 2019, when the Chang’e 4 probe landed in the South Pole-Aitken Basin. Chang’e 4 surveyed areas surrounding its landing site, but did not collect samples.

The lander worked for 49 hours on the far side, using a mechanical arm and a drill to collect surface and underground materials.

The unmanned mission successfully concluded on June 25 with a total of 1,935.3 grams of samples from the far side retrieved.

Taiwan military on high alert as China warships sail near island

December 9, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Taiwan said its military was on high alert as Chinese warships sailed near the island on Monday, preparing for a strong response from China to President Lai Ching-te’s stopovers in the United States.

Taiwan said it had also detected Chinese coast guard vessels and that Beijing’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had restricted the airspace off the Chinese coast.

‘In response to these actions by the PLA, the MND has initiated combat readiness drills, factoring in enemy threats, weather conditions, and tactical positioning,’ the Ministry of National Defense in Taipei said in a statement.

It added that military units were on ‘high’ alert.

The ministry said its forces had ‘identified PLA Eastern, Northern, and Southern Theater Command naval formations, along with Coast Guard vessels, entering areas around the Taiwan Strait and the Western Pacific’.

There has been intense speculation about the possibility of China launching military drills in response to Lai’s trip to the Pacific that included stopovers in Hawaii and Guam.

There was no immediate public announcement by the PLA or Chinese state media about increased military activity around Taiwan.

U.S. ‘playing with fire’ funding Taiwan’s military, China says

December 24, 2024 — SpaceWar.com reports: “China has reacted angrily to the White House’s approval of $295 million in arms sales to Taiwan, according to a release Saturday from the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Los Angeles.

President Joe Biden authorized up to $571 million in U.S. Defense Department military education and training funding for Taiwan, which Beijing argues is its territory and should come under Chinese control. The DoD approved the $295 portion of the allocation on Friday.

‘This seriously violates the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiqués,’ the ministry said in a statement.

The statement said the United State’s decision to supply arms to Taiwan is at the heart of China’s core interests.

‘To aid Taiwan independence by arming Taiwan is just like playing with fire and will get the US burned, and to use the Taiwan question to contain China is doomed to fail,’ the statement said.

China called on the U.S. to stop arming Taiwan that it says will undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. It threatened to ‘take all measures necessary to firmly defend national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.’…”
