CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH

Christianity ‘under attack as never before’

ChristianToday.com reports: “Lord Carey has criticised a top judge’s comments that courts are ‘no longer Christian’ in multi-cultural Britain.

Sir James Munby, president of the Family Division of the High Court, said in a speech in London this week [10/28/13] that, as Britain was a multicultural nation, judges must take an ‘essentially neutral view of religious beliefs’ and should not ‘weigh one religion against another’.

‘Once upon a time, the perceived function of the judges was to promote virtue and discourage vice and immorality,’ he said. ‘I doubt one would now hear that from the judicial bench.’

Writing in the Daily Mail, Lord Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, challenged his view, saying that Britain’s legal system had its roots in Christian ethics and that the Christian faith was the foundation of British culture.

He also warned that Christianity was being increasingly marginalised in British society.

‘The concepts of honesty, personal responsibility, opposition to violence, concern for others and respect for their property — which are all part of the fabric of our laws — lie at the heart of the gospels,’ he said.

‘Tragically, this rich and inspiring heritage is now under attack as never before…” (This article proves that Islam is beginning their global takeover.)

Rand Paul calls for defense of Christians

WND.com reports: “Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is leading an effort by politicians and human rights groups to push the United States government to make the fight against Christian persecution a policy priority, including increased pressure on Iran to free American pastor Saeed Abedini.

In a bipartisan move, 23 U. S. senators have sent President Obama a letter asking him to step up pressure on Iran to release Abedini, held for being a Christian since September 2012.

In a statement, the American Center for Law and Justice said the letter is further evidence of the Senate’s commitment to Abedini’s freedom.

‘Led by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, the letter calls Pastor Saeed’s transfer a potential ‘death sentence’ and urges President Obama to immediately speak out for his freedom. Now nearly a quarter of the U.S. Senate is urging action from the U.S. government on Pastor Saeed’s behalf,’ ACLJ said.

In a recent speech, Paul said he believes there’s an all-out war against Christianity, and he wants the U. S. government to focus on fighting against persecution…” (Thank God for Rand Paul who cares for and warns America of what’s coming while our Christian ministers are mute to the dangers to God’s People.

These jelly-fish spineless clergy members would rather have their rock bands and coffee clutches introducing their services since they are ‘lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God’ – II Timothy 3:4, 5. Soon they’ll be sorry as Revelation 6:9 occurs “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held” and 20:4 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years” hit America and the world. Mother of US Missionary Jailed in N. Korea Says He is ‘Alone and Ailing’

Voice of America News reports: “The mother of jailed U.S. missionary Kenneth Bae, who is serving a 15-year sentence for state subversion in North Korea, said that her son remained isolated and was desperate for contact with the outside world a year after he was first detained.

Myunghee Bae, in an op-ed published in the Seattle Times, provided details about her October visit to the Pyongyang hospital where her son, who is diabetic, was recovering from health ailments that saw him lose 50 pounds in three months.

‘It pained me to see how starved he was for a connection to home and the outside world, alone and ailing in a foreign prison,’ Bae wrote in the piece, published on Sunday [11/3/13]. ‘I tried to reassure him that he was not forgotten.’

‘He has been isolated for one year without anybody to talk to other than his guards and doctors. I could not imagine how hard that must have been for Kenneth, who has always been so outgoing and talkative,’ she wrote.

Kenneth Bae, 45, was detained Nov. 3, 2012 as he led a tour group through the northern region of the country. The country’s Supreme Court said he used his tourism business to form groups aimed at overthrowing the government and sentenced him to 15 years of hard labor in May.

A devout Christian, Bae has acknowledged he conducted religious services in North Korea, which has long been hostile to Westerners advocating religious causes…”

U.S. pastor in Iran moved to ‘more dangerous’ prison

WND.com reports: “The American pastor held in Iran since September 2012 has been moved from the notorious Evin Prison to the ‘even more dangerous’ Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, an hour and a half from Tehran, officials say.

The American Center for Law and Justice, which has been working to free Pastor Saeed Abedini, said the move was discovered while Abedini’s family members attempted a visit, but were told he had been transported to the ‘life threatening’ prison in Karaj.

In an exclusive interview with WND, ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow said the severity of Abedini’s situation has increased.

‘It’s more notorious in its scale. It’s a place where people disappear. It’s a place where people murder each other. There are a lot of convicted murderers; there are convicted rapists there,’ Sekulow said.

Sekulow says the signs aren’t good for Abedini.

‘As for the political prisoners who get sent there, it’s prisoners who are in their last days. That’s why there’s such an urgency behind our statements on this,’ Sekulow said…”

Christian-Muslim Bloodbath Devastates Central African Republic

Breitbart.com reports: “The mineral-rich Central African Republic is collapsing into chaos amid a worsening religious conflict between Christians and Muslims that could trigger genocide and bring more upheaval to a region already beset by turmoil, observers warn.

‘The situation … is horrendous,’ Gerard Araud, France’s ambassador to the United Nations, said last week [11/4/13] after the Security Council was briefed on the swelling bloodbath in the former French colony.

‘The state has collapsed and this country is now simply plundered, looted, the women are raped, people are killed by thugs,’ he said. ‘The country has fallen into anarchy.’…”

Egypt gunmen open fire on Coptic Christian wedding in Cairo

BBC News reports: “Three people, including a girl aged eight, died when gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on a wedding party outside a Coptic Christian church in Cairo.

At least nine others were wounded in the attack in Giza, officials said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Egypt’s Coptic Christian community has been targeted by some Islamists who accuse the Church of backing the army’s overthrow of President Mohammed Morsi in July.

The unidentified attackers fired indiscriminately as people left the church.

A man and a girl were killed outside the church and a woman died on her way to hospital.

‘We heard a very loud sound as if something was collapsing,’ one eyewitness said.

‘I found a woman seated in a chair with lots of bullet wounds, covered in blood. Many other people had fallen around her, including a child,’ he added…”

Bishop: Pope leading church to ‘disaster’

WND.com reports: “Citing the famous prophecies of Fatima, traditionalist Roman Catholic Bishop Bernard Fellay warned in an address in Kansas City that Pope Francis is precipitating the church’s decline and could be a herald that the world is entering the age of the Antichrist.

Fellay, who leads a society that has no canonical status in the Roman Catholic Church, said the ‘modernist views’ professed by the pontiff are at odds with traditional Catholic teaching.

‘The situation in the Catholic Church is a real disaster and the present pope is making it 10,000 times worse,’ Fellay charged Oct. 12 at the Angelus Press Conference in Kansas City.

Fellay is superior general of the Society of St. Pius X, whose ministers, according to the Vatican, do not legitimately exercise ministry in the church…

Fellay attacked Francis for advancing a new format for the Catholic Mass, following in the path of Vatican II, and for suggesting the Catholic Church condemns homosexuality, but not homosexuals, and that even atheists might achieve salvation if they live according to conscience.

Claiming these are ‘very scary times,’ Fellay spoke of abortion as a sin that cries to Heaven for vengeance. He characterized same-sex marriage as an ‘unnatural re-definition of marriage and related sins.’…” (Order my book “The Final Three Popes Signal Christ’s Return” – an 865 year old prophecy predicts that pope number 265 from Peter or 113 from Pope Celestine II reigns during Armageddon and destroys Catholic doctrine which has been taught for the past 2,000 years. It’s happening. Scores of quotes such as the heading of this report inundate my book.)
