Russia threatens to cut Ukraine gas over Donbas war

June 7, 2021 — euobserver.com reports: “Russia has threatened to cut off Ukraine gas for political reasons, immediately after announcing the completion of a new pipeline to Germany.

Russian president Vladimir Putin did it at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday (4 June), which was attended by Austrian chancellor Sebastian Kurz and former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder.

Putin said the first link in the Germany pipeline, called Nord Stream 2, was finished and that Russian state firm Gazprom was ready to fill it with gas.

‘Gazprom’s ready for deliveries, but everything will depend on the German regulator,’ he said.

When the St Petersburg forum’s moderator mentioned that Russian gas currently ‘feeds’ Ukraine’s transit pipelines to the EU, Putin interjected, saying: ‘Do you think we should feed everyone? Putin denies Russia preparing to give Iran advanced satellite system

June 14, 2021 — SpaceWar.com reports: “President Vladimir Putin on Friday denied a US media report that Russia is set to deliver an advanced satellite system to Iran that will vastly improve its spying capabilities.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that Moscow is preparing to give Iran a Kanopus-V satellite with a high-resolution camera, allowing Islamic republic to monitor facilities of its adversaries across the Middle East.

Putin, who is expected to hear a range of complaints from US President Joe Biden when they meet Wednesday in Geneva, dismissed the report as ‘garbage.’

‘We have cooperation plans with Iran, including the military and technical cooperation,’ he told NBC News in an interview ahead of the summit…” 

Russia says it fired warning shots at UK ship

June 24, 2021 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Russia on Wednesday said it fired warning shots at a British navy destroyer in the Black Sea after it violated the country’s territorial waters, but the UK denied the incident had occurred.

Incidents involving Western aircraft and ships are not uncommon at Russia’s borders, especially during heightened tensions with Washington, Brussels and London, but rarely result in open fire.

The HMS Defender ‘was given a preliminary warning that weapons would be used if the state borders of the Russian Federation were violated. It did not react to the warning,’ the Russian defence ministry said, according to Interfax news agency.

The ministry added that ‘a border patrol ship fired warning shots’ and a Su-24 aircraft dropped four bombs along the destroyer’s path. It said that the ship then left Russian waters.

But the UK’s defence ministry swiftly denied that the incident had happened…”  (Ezekiel 38:5 predicts that Russia, the Orient, and Persia [which changed its name to Iran in 1932] will see millions destroyed through atomic warfare in the Latter Years and Latter Days – Ezekiel 38:8, 16. Massive exercise in Black Sea with US comes after Russia warning

June 26, 2021 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “On June 21 the US Sixth Fleet announced it would participate in the Sea Breeze exercise that will take place from June 28 to July 10. The US says that ‘this year’s iteration has the largest number of participating nations in the exercise’s history with 32 countries from six continents providing 5,000 troops, 32 ships, 40 aircraft, and 18 special operations and dive teams scheduled to participate.’ 

This is important because it comes days after a UK warship and Russia appeared to clash off the coast of Crimea. Ukraine claims Crimea, but Russia annexed the area in 2014. There have been other tensions between Russia and Ukraine and Russia and the US, increasingly at sea in recent years. Ukraine is fighting a war against Russian-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine. Russia has warned the UK against what it sees as provocations…”

U.S., French, British navies sign agreement for increased cooperation

June 4, 2021 — SpaceWar.com reports: “Leaders of the U.S., French and British navies on Thursday signed a trilateral agreement to continue enhancing their collaboration.

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday, French Navy Adm. Pierre Vandier and Tony Radakin, First Sea Lord of Britain’s Royal Navy met in Toulon, France, Thursday to sign the agreement, the U.S. Navy said in press release.

The navies, which acknowledged that their partnership has lasted more than a century, already currently working together as part of Britain’s recently-deployed U.K. Carrier Strike Group and participate in a continuous series of military exercises together.

‘Today, we reaffirm our commitment to uphold and advance a rules-based international system together that has underpinned our mutual security and prosperity,’ Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday said in the release.

Vandier said the current common challenges of the three nations are likely to increase in both scale and complexity…”
