THE APPROACHING MIDEAST STORM

Peres to Clinton: Mideast ‘storm’ must bring peace and democracy

Haaretz reports: “President Shimon Peres met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after he landed in Washington D.C., the first in a series of high-profile meetings scheduled for his U.S. trip.

The president and U.S. Secretary of State met at the Blair House, where an Israeli flag had been put up to honor the Israeli visitor. Clinton and Peres met one-on-one, however they spoke with the press prior to their meeting, both full of positive projections for their talk.

In their statement to the press, Peres, who spoke first, said that Clinton’s name for Israel symbolizes ‘true friendship, even in tough times,’ and that Israelis are full of respect for her.

The Israeli president added that the Middle East is in the midst of ‘storm’, and he hopes that the recent turmoil that has swept up the region will bring more security, peace and democracy – a change that Israel will support.

Clinton called Peres an ‘exceptional leader’, lauding him for his pursuit of peace. The U.S. secretary of state said that she and President Obama are looking forward to their meetings with him, concurring with his assessment of the trend of uprisings in the Middle East that has come to be known as the ‘Arab Spring’ and adding that the revolutions are generational, not an overall upheaval of Arab civilizations.

She added that although this is a time of uprisings and uncertainty, it is also an opportunity for change and progress…” (Islam does not want democracy. It goes against Sharia Law which believes and promotes the impossibility of democracy and Sharia Law being united because the two orders of law enforcement are opposite and unattainable – II Corinthians 3:17: “…where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty“.)

Security official: Al-Qaida exploiting Libya unrest to acquire weapons

Haaretz reports: “Al-Qaida is exploiting the conflict in Libya to acquire weapons, including surface-to-air missiles, and smuggle them to a stronghold in northern Mali, a security official from neighboring Algeria told Reuters.

The official said a convoy of eight Toyota pick-up trucks left eastern Libya, crossed into Chad and then Niger and from there into northern Mali where it delivered a cargo of weapons.

He said the weapons included Russian-made RPG-7 anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades, Kalashnikov heavy machine guns, Kalashnikov rifles, explosives and ammunition.

He also said he had information that Al-Qaida North African wing, known as al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), had acquired from Libya Russian-made shoulder-fired Strela surface-to-air missiles known by the NATO designation SAM-7.

‘A convoy of eight Toyotas full of weapons travelled a few days ago through Chad and Niger and reached northern Mali,’ said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity…” (Al-Qaida, the murderous denomination of Islam is seeking for weapons and especially nukes out of Pakistan. If they succeed Chernobyl and Japan will exemplify the devastation they will release upon America and much of the world – Zephaniah 1:18; Malachi 4:1; Revelation 8:7.)

Iranian MP: Saudi Regime Nearing Collapse

The Fars News Agency reports: “A senior Iranian legislator deplored the continued suppression of the Bahraini protesters by the Saudi troops deployed in the tiny Persian Gulf island, and warned that the move will result in the accelerated collapse of the Al- Saud dynasty in Saudi Arabia.

Pointing to the deployment of Saudi forces in Bahrain, Mahmoud Ahmadi Biqash warned, ‘…the Wahabi king of Saudi Arabia should know that although he embarked on occupying Bahrain to renew his allegiance and obedience to the US and Britain in a bid to prevent his collapse, we will soon witness the collapse of their (the Al-Saud) medieval dynasty and cruel dictatorship.’

He called on Riyadh to withdraw its forces from Bahrain before it is too late, warning that the Saudis’ continued military intervention in Bahrain would be synonymous with the imminent demise of the al-Saud.

Demonstrators in the Shiite-majority Bahrain have been demanding constitutional reforms as well as an end to the 230-year-old Sunni-led monarchy, with hundreds camping out peacefully in the capital’s Pearl Square since February 14th.

Bahraini security forces have been brutally suppressing anti-government protesters. So far, at least 24 people have been killed, almost 100 have gone missing and about 1,000 others have been injured…” (Nonsense)

Israel urges Russia to reconsider Syrian arms deal

YnetNews.com reports: “As the unrest in Syria grows, so does the concern that arms deals pursued by the unstable Damascus regime may result in weapons ending up in terror groups’ hands.

In an interview with Russian news agency Interfax, Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Dorit Golender called on the Kremlin to revisit its intent to finalize a recent arms deal with Syria, which will see the latter get anti-ship cruise missiles.

The deal, which will see Russia supply Syria with two units of P-800 Yakhont missiles, was signed in 2007.

‘The situation is Syria is unstable, and can get worse at any time. We hope Russia will take this seriously,’ said Golender. ‘We believe the risks and possible negative repercussions should be reconsidered.

‘Israel is concerned that weapons delivered to Syria may eventually end up in the hands of terror groups and terrorists, who will use them to carry out attacks on Israel.’…” (Israel knows the danger Syria could create against their tiny nation. When World War III occurs, Syria is allied with Russia. Russia is defeated – Ezekiel 39:1, 2, 12, 13; and Damascus, the capital of Syria, becomes a ruinous heap – Isaiah 17:1.)
