Nice attack: At least 84 killed during Bastille Day celebrations

July 15, 2016 — BBC News reports: “At least 84 people have died, including children, after a lorry slammed through a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in the southern French city of Nice.

The driver ploughed on for 2km (1.2 miles) on the Promenade des Anglais at about 23:00 local time, before being shot dead by police.

Witnesses say the speeding lorry swerved and zigzagged in an apparent attempt to hit more people.

Police reportedly found guns and grenades inside the lorry.

President Francois Hollande said the attack was of ‘an undeniable terrorist nature’.

Prime Minister Manuel Valls has declared three days of national mourning for the victims from Saturday.

A state of emergency, in place since November’s Paris attacks carried out by militant from the Islamic State group, in which 130 people died, has been extended by three months.

The attack in Nice began shortly after the end of a firework display on the seafront for Bastille Day, which is the country’s national holiday…”

 Nice attack was ‘premeditated, prepared and planned’

July 19, 2016 — Israel National News reports: “New details continue to emerge about Mohammed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, the Tunisian-French man who drove a truck into a crowd in Nice’s Promenade De Anglais on Bastille Day last Thursday night, killing 84.

Prosecutor Francois Molin outlined the preliminary findings of the police investigation into Boulel’s background at a press conference yesterday (Monday).

Widespread reports had already indicated that Bouhlel, though from a Muslim background, was never seen to be religious by family and friends. Molin confirmed this, saying the Bouhlel ‘ate pork, drank alcohol, took drugs and had a promiscuous sex life.’

However, there were recent indications that he was taking a greater interests in Jihadist ideology. According to Molin, Bouhlel’s computer contained very ‘violent images’ from radical Islamic websites, as well as links to Jihadi sites, research about the recent shootings in Orlando and Dallas, and research into Osama bin Laden and the Algerian terrorist leader Mokhtar Belmokhtar.

In addition, the terms ‘horrible accident’, ‘terrible fatal accident’ and ‘shocking video, not for sensitive souls’ had been recently searched on his computer.

In conversation with police detectives, one witness said that in the context of a conversation about ISIS videos of beheadings posted online, Bouhlel had said ‘I’m used to seeing that’. Other witnesses said that he’d grown a beard over the week before he committed the attack, and told acquaintances that the reasons for growing the beard were religious…”

 ISIS supporters celebrate on social media as Hollande calls Nice tragedy ‘clearly terror’

July 15, 2016 — The Jerusalem Post reports: “Supporters of Islamic State celebrated on social media an attack in France by a truck that ran into crowds watching a fireworks display on the Bastille Day national holiday, killing at least 80 people and injuring over 100.

‘The number of those killed had reached 62 French crusaders and sinful infidels in Nice, France… God is great, God is great,’ read one tweet as details of the terror attack were emerging.

‘Oh France, you and the all Europe will never be secure until we will live secure on every inch in the land of the Caliphate,’ wrote another user.

‘This is the beginning of the attack to take the holy revenge for the killing of Abu Omar Shishani, may Allah accept him,’ another said on an Isis forum.

Police source close to the investigation told agency Reuters that the gunmen is believed to be a 31-year-old Franco-Tunisian born in Tunisia…

President Francois Hollande said at least 80 people were killed in an attack in which the assailant drove a big truck at high speed into dense crowds who were watching a fireworks display on the country’s national Bastille Day holiday.

Bastille Day Terrorist Deploys Car-Ramming Tactic Popularized by Palestinians

July 15, 2016 — Breitbart.com reports: “The suspected terrorist gunman who killed 80 people and wounded scores of others during Bastille Day celebrations in the French Riviera city of Nice late on Thursday seemed to have taken a page out of the Palestinian jihadist playbook of vehicular terrorism.

For several years now, Palestinian terrorists have deployed the deadly tactic of plowing vehicles into pedestrians and then attempting to continue their assaults with stabbings or shootings.

Only two days ago, a Palestinian man attempted a car-ramming attack against Israel Border Police officers near Jerusalem.

Islamic State Celebrates Munich Attack: ‘Everything Hurting Infidels Makes Us Happy’

July 24, 2016 — Breitbart.com reports: “Islamic State and their supporters have been celebrating the Munich gun attack as though they orchestrated the event, although no links have been found between the killer and Islamist organisations.

Following the news that an 18-year-old Iranian-German had opened fire in a McDonalds restaurant and mall in Munich, killing nine and injuring 21 others, Twitter accounts run by supporters of Islamic state claimed that the organisation is ‘expanding into Europe,’ while one of Islamic State’s main propaganda channels claimed the ‘Whole Europe [sic] is now under our terrorism.’

An alternative Islamic State propaganda channel said the Caliphate had not yet claimed the attack as one of their own, but they were celebrating victory regardless as ‘everything hurting infidels makes us happy.’…”  (ISIS does not claim this is their devastating deed, but rejoice when others of their bloody butchers in 12 different Muslim organizations slaughter decent human beings, especially Christians.  Sorry President Obama, your reported message that ISIS is the only murderous group again shows your relationship to family and friends as you constantly shield and protect them.  See the next three reports.)

 Islamic State Claims Responsibility for Attack in Bavaria

July 26, 2016 — Voice of America News reports: “A 27-year old Syrian migrant who set off an explosion killing himself and wounding at least a dozen people in Ansbach, Germany was a ‘soldier’ of Islamic State (IS), according to the militant group’s Amaq news agency.

Amaq reported that an ‘insider source’ said the attacker ‘carried out the operation in response to calls to target countries of the coalition that fights Islamic State.’

Bavaria’s top security official told reporters Monday the attacker had recorded a video on his cell phone pledging allegiance to the leader of IS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Joachhim Hermann also said bomb making materials such as gasoline and chemicals were also found in the assailant’s home…”

London police chief: It’s not ‘if’ Britain is hit by terrorists, but ‘when’

July 31, 2016 — ChristianToday.com reports: “Britain cannot be fully protected against terrorism and an attack similar to those seen recently in mainland Europe is a question of ‘when, not if,’ London’s police chief said on Sunday.

The warning by Metropolitan Police Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe reflects Britain’s current ‘severe’ threat level for international terrorism and follows a string of attacks in Germany and France, some of which have been linked to Islamic militants.

Hogan-Howe acknowledged that people in Britain were becoming increasingly worried they could be next.

‘I feel and understand that fear, and as the police officer in charge of preventing such an attack, know that you want me to reassure you. I am afraid I cannot do that entirely,’ he said in a blog posted online on Sunday and printed in the Mail on Sunday newspaper.

‘Our threat level has been at ‘severe’ for two years — it remains there. It means an attack is highly likely – you could say it is a case of when, not if.’…”

Islamic State calls on members to carry out jihad in Russia

August 1, 2016 — Reuters reports: “Islamic State called on its group members to carry out jihad in Russia in a nine-minute YouTube video on Sunday.

‘Listen Putin, we will come to Russia and will kill you at your homes … Oh Brothers, carry out jihad and kill and fight them,’ a masked man driving a car in the desert yelled while wagging his finger in the last couple of minutes of the video.

The video with subtitles showed footage of armed men attacking armored vehicles and tents and collecting arms in the desert. ‘Breaking into a barrack of the Rejectionist military on the international road south Akashat,’ read one subtitle.

It was not immediately possible to independently verify the video but the link to the footage was published on a Telegram messaging account used by the militant group.

It was not immediately clear why Russia would be a target, but Russia and the U.S. are talking about boosting military and intelligence cooperation against Islamic State and al Qaeda in Syria.
