FROM THE HEART OF DR. REXELLA VAN IMPE
What’s In a Look?
The instant I saw her I knew she was special.
She was only about 5 years old, and her smile simply captivated my heart. Something about her moved me and compelled my attention.
It was the closing night of our crusade in Roanoke, Virginia, and after the service Dr. Van Impe and I were sitting on the edge of the platform, shaking hands and visiting with people.
A young couple came over to me and smiled up at me so sweetly. There was such a wonderful expression of the Lord on their faces. I leaned over and shook their hands and greeted them, but they didn’t say a word.
That’s when I saw her — their beautiful little daughter with a cherub face and an angelic smile that wrapped itself around my heart. I motioned to her with my finger and she came up on the platform and stood in front of me.
As I looked into her eyes, suddenly I realized that she couldn’t talk — both she and her parents were without speech. So with the little bit of sign language I know, I asked, “Do you love Jesus?”
And she signed back — not only with her hands, but with her eyes and her heart — “YES… OH, YES!”
I was so moved… so overcome with emotion that I also was mute for a long moment. There was something in her look that spoke volumes. Somehow I realized that this child knew the Lord in a way that few people ever will. She had an inner relationship with Christ so real and powerful that His radiance glowed in her face and His joy flowed out of her tender young life to touch everyone around her.
I looked down into the faces of the child’s mother and father and saw their love and pride. And I also saw that they had that special look. One glance… and people could tell they had been with Jesus.
Because I couldn’t understand the meaning of all their signs, I was unable to converse very much with them. But I had no doubt that they were able to speak to Christ, perhaps in a much deeper and more meaningful way than most of us do.
And they had taught their daughter well, and had led her to know Jesus. Somehow I was absolutely convinced that she had been on Christ’s lap often, even as little ones were centuries ago.
Do you have “the look”?
What do people see when they look at us? Can they tell at a glance that we’ve been in the presence of the Lord?
I love the beautiful Old Testament account of how Moses went up to the mountain to meet with God and to receive the Ten Commandments. When he came back down into the camp of the Israelites, his countenance shone — the light that emanated from his being told all the people at a glance that he had been with Jehovah God.
Some time ago, a local television program featured a man who was talking about how to have the look that was right for you. He was stressing the importance of choosing just the right makeup, hairstyle, clothing colors, etc.
I believe that this is important. But as I watched that program, I was struck with the thought that even if we make the outer person look his or her best, without the abiding presence of the Lord within, we can never achieve the look that sets us apart from the world.
What does it matter if people can look at me and say, “My, doesn’t she have an up-to-date look — her make-up, her hair, her clothes, her grooming are just impeccable!” If they do not see beyond the outer shell, how real is my Christian testimony?
For all believers, one of our greatest joys should be having people see Jesus in us — sensing that there is something different about us without our saying a word.
The look of love
Not long ago, I had a beautiful, blessed experience. I was trying on a dress in a shop when the girl who was assisting me began to talk, and in minutes she was pouring out her heart to me. She told me her problems and asked for advice and help. After I counseled with her concerning her personal need, I proceeded to explain God’s plan of salvation and her greatest need of all — to accept Christ. So we were praying, and she opened her heart to the Lord. Later, when I asked why she came to me for help, she said, “There was just something about you — a certain look that touched me.”
What’s in a look?
God help us to be so filled with His presence and so overflowing with His love that we have our Lord’s look — the look of love.
A CLASSIC MESSAGE OF HOPE FROM DR. JACK VAN IMPE
Walking in the Saviour’s Steps – part 1
The past two newsletters dealt with the price one pays as he follows the Lord Jesus Christ. Revival goes hand-in-hand with discipleship because heart preparation is necessary if one is to walk in the Savior’s steps.
The greatest verse in the Bible on the subject of revival is found 2 Chronicles 7:14. This truth, delivered to Israel centuries ago, is preeminently applicable for believers in the twentieth century. The text states, If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Humility
The first thing a believer can do to bring the blessing of God back upon his experience is to seek humility. Pride fills the arena of Christendom today. Christian services, including evangelistic crusades, are filled with performers seeking praise. Carnal performers seek the exaltation of self. Christ isthe only one worthy of praise. Temperamental artists, charging exorbitant sums, want glory. These prima donnas must have worshippers or they will not perform. God deliver us from egotistical, haughty performers, and give us more old-fashioned, Holy Spirit filled soloists who want Christ to be uplifted. How embarrassed this crowd will be at the Judgment Seat of Christ when motives are investigated.
First Corinthians 4:5 states, Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels [or motives-Greek] of the hearts.
When God tests motives in that day, many will have nothing but an incinerated pile of ashes to throw at Christ’s feet in place of crowns (see 1 Corinthians 3:11-15).
Let’s see what God has to say about pride. In Proverbs 16:18 He states, Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Sir, lady-high and mighty-a destructive fall is predicted for your life and ministry. Fall on your knees and repent of this hindering sin in your life. Oh, how we need to be like Jesus who said in Matthew 11:29, Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
We need the humility of John the Baptist who cried out in John 3:30, He must increase, but I must decrease. He must be exalted and I abased. When one genuinely practices this truth, God will exalt the sincere soul. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up (James 4:10). God says that the way up is down to self.
Glory seekers will never have the blessing and power of God upon them because God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble (James 4:6). Let’s ask God to forgive us for the sin of thinking that we are latter day gifts to the Church. Instead, Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time (1 Peter 5:6). The glory is coming at the Judgment Seat when rewards are distributed to the faithful. Do what you can for Christ and the souls of men now, and crowns to lay at Christ’s feet will be yours at that great Coronation Day.
Child of God, be faithful-even when no one seems to care-For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:11). Remember, Whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted (Matthew 23:12).
Prayer
Prayer is a necessity if one is to experience true revival in his heart. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Modern Christians know little about this most effectual ministry. Jesus did. He said in Luke 18:1, Men ought always to pray and not to faint. Christ rose up early in the morning to pray (see Mark 1:35). He continued all night in prayer to God (Luke 6:12). Multitudes will rise up early to fish, ski, and golf, while others will sit up until the small hours of the morning watching vampires, witches, and bloodsuckers on “Shock Theatre.” How different these Christians are from Christ, after whom Christianity is named. These so-called followers need a heaven-shaking revival of body and soul.
Paul, who said in 1 Corinthians 11:1, Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ, practiced what he preached. He said, Continuing instant in prayer (Romans 12:12); Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit (Ephesians 6:18); Continue in prayer (Colossians 4:2); and Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
In other periods of American history, entire cities and counties were deluged with revival as thousands per week-up to one million total-were converted. The secret was prayer. Finney describes the times of agonizing prayer that transpired in his day in his book Revival Lectures. He states: “Men prayed until their clothing was soaked through with perspiration. Some bled like Christ did in Luke 22:44. Two prayed themselves to death before the age of 40. To many it appeared as foolishness, but cities were turned upside down for Christ.”
Would to God that we had prayer warriors like this in every major city where the Jack Van Impe Crusades are conducted. Oh, to see a revival where sin is put out of business; where movie houses, brothels, massage parlors, and pornography dens are barricaded because the power of God, through prayer, has padlocked Satan’s establishments. Christian, pray without ceasing!

Lovingly in our Savior,
Susie D.
Hello, my name is Cheryl H. and the Lord directed me to watch your show about 10 years ago. I was struggling with drugs, alcohol and cigarettes, believing that was the only way to live. I lost care of my children and respect of my family. But God, through Jesus Christ, saw fit to introduce Himself to me and my family, and today we are all doing well. I want to praise with you as I see Him working with you and through you to enlighten us of how to prepare for His return. I love to hear you both speak and am very glad you are on audio and video. God has got a way that’s mighty sweet! I pray strength for both of you and will be on guard to hear what the spirit is saying to the church! Bless you!!

HIGHLIGHTED MINISTRY OFFERS
The Bear, The Beast, and The Lion
“THIS IS JUST A ‘SPECIAL MILITARY OPERATION'”

Even as Russian troops amassed on the Ukrainian border, Putin assured the nations it wasn’t a war.  Yet in February 2022, a full-scale invasion began.
Now, years later, this war has cost both nations greatly, in terms of war dollars and, sadly, lives.  And despite their own horrible losses in, Russia hasn’t relented.
What could possibly be driving Russia’s commitment to this prolonged and devastating war?
This is yet another rung in Russia’s ascent to world domination.  The Scriptures forewarn us of even greater aggression from this obstinate nation in the future.
In this booklet, Dr. Rexella Van Impe discusses the major players involved in that future war: a Bear, a Beast, and a Lion.
As we better understand biblical prophecy, we can take encouragement from knowing that God has already foreseen these world events.  And He remains firmly in control.
One day soon, the Lord Jesus will come again.  And when He does, He will bring an end to ALL war.
Jesus the Only Way
Jesus is! He’s so good, perfect, and kind! And He’s the only way to heaven Believe in Him Today!
We live in such a confused, chaotic world! And yet there is hope to be found in the person of Jesus Christ and in His completed work at Calvary
Let us never wash down the message or attempt to combine it with the false messages of other religions Jesus is God’s gift to us, and by believing in Him, we are assured an eternity in heaven!
This little booklet answers many of the questions Drs Jack and Rexella Van Impe were asked through the years about Jesus, the possibility of One World Religion and God’s divine plan through the work of His Son on the cross
May the truths presented herein bring hope encouragement and joyful anticipation for the future we’ll spend sitting at the feet of Jesus!
